  1. Zegras had almost identical counting stats to Cozens last season, while playing almost 300 minutes more than Dylan last season. In terms of fancy stats Cozens is actually a better play driver. This is probably the hold up in negotiations, Zegras wants to be paid as a 1C while Verbeek looks at McTavish and Carlsson figuring they are the Top 2Cs moving forward and will be paid as such in a few years. A Cozens Type Deal is probably what the Ducks are looking for. Most likely this is the agent looking for leverage in negotiations
  2. Savoie or Östlund/Rosen or Wahlberg/and a 1st is probably in the ballpark.
  3. Talas had a regular Monday Show at a Club called Stage One. On December 8th, 1980 a little known band from Ireland opened for them called U2 Bono still refers to playing this show in Buffalo the day that John Lennon was killed
  4. This sounds correct

  7. From Friedman’s 32 Thoughts 19. Buffalo’s Matt Savoie suffered a shoulder injury during a prospect game Monday against Pittsburgh and is expected to miss some of the Sabres’ main training camp. While the OHL, the AHL and the NHL reached a gentlemen’s agreement to allow Shane Wright to go to Coachella Valley if he does not make Seattle, no such allowance is expected for Savoie, the ninth overall pick in the 2022 draft. Wright was one game shy of automatically being eligible for the AHL, and everyone involved wisely found a solution since the OHL did not have a season in 2021. (Savoie’s actually played more CHL games than Wright and missed the age exemption by one puny day.) All of that said, I wonder if the Sabres follow what the Kraken did with Wright last season. Instead of sending Savoie back to the WHL, they keep him in Buffalo for a while, then to the AHL for conditioning, followed by Team Canada for the World Juniors.
  8. If he makes the Sabres it will be in a 4th Line Role for his defensive capabilities. It’s also important to remember he could have returned to the WHL last season where he was above a PPG Player, but the Sabres felt Rochester was a better spot for His Development.

  19. How many years should a player have to remain with a team before becoming an UFA? Seven years was one of the terms negotiated between the NHL and the NHLPA for the CBA. I’m a huge Kevyn Adams Fan, but giving a bridge deal that takes Dahlin up to His Final Year of RFA was wrought with risk. I do believe the reports from @tom websterand Chad that the parameters of a new contract were agreed upon around July 1st and perhaps the AAV might have to approach 11 or even 12 Million per season, which is still worth it.
  20. Autocorrect from Amerks to Akeem’s I believe
  21. He does have the right to take His Qualifying Offer of one year 7.2 Million next Summer and become an UFA July 1st, 2025. Dahlin really has the upper hand and can dictate the terms of His Next Deal. What really doesn’t make sense is Peters reporting that the deal is done at 8 years/10.5 Million AAV and then 10 days later reporting they are 3 years apart on term all of a sudden and that Dahlin is upset it’s not done.
  22. Metsa might warrant an ELC
