  1. I'm sorry, but your entire existence on this message board seems to be to tear down two former Jets players that are now on the Sabres, and sing the praises of a team that has nothing to do with us. This is a Sabres message board. What are you hoping to achieve? What is your end game? Your interest is solely the Winnipeg Jets. Wouldn't that be better served on a Jets message board?

Ducky's been honorable. He isn't trolling and hasn't posted anything he doesn't believe to be true. He should be welcome here. He's had a lot of good insight.

    Please don't push him out.

  2. Fair enough. I just feel like he can do more.

I know he's a sacred cow here so I'd just like to know why people disagree, rather than just be dismissive.

I can imagine what relentless day to day ass-kissing can do to an 18/19 year old. I just don't want him to turn into Bure/Kovalev.

If he wasn't working hard, I'd worry. He'll get better at seeing the openings, using his teammates, and picking his spots.

Pierre Turgeon years ago was practically run out of town for only being very good instead of unbelievable.

Don't underestimate how fickle the fan can be.

  3. Was listening to NHL radio this morning (SiriusXM) and they had Shane Hnidy on the program.  Shane does color commentary for Winnipeg these days.  They were talking about how Myers isn't playing well (only 2 points and a team worst -5) and Shane said something to the effect of "yeah, but he skates well" and "he is still young and once he learns the game..."  It was funny because it was exactly what people here said for 5+ seasons.  Sometimes a player is what he is.  I was never a fan of Myers and am happy as hell Murray traded him.

      :P

I always liked Myers, but you can't really pretend his best game is below the circles. His game is skating above them.

  4. It's a game of aggression.  Every forward was willing to bowl Hasek over.  Hasek needed to be willing to do the same to maintain the mental dominance he had over skaters.

For example, Radko Gudas' run at Eichel last night.  "You're not going to get the better of me, rook".

And that's one reason why most 18 year olds aren't ready for the show.

Guhle got scrambled, Eichel dodged that.

Samson learned the hard way when he had his jumbo coffee last year. Elbows were up, and he looked like a prison fish for much of those 9.

  5. Life was such that I got to listen to the last ~8 of the 2nd, almost all of the third, and then watch the OT.

Been a while since I listened to a game. A pleasant experience -- took me back to being a kid and listening to RJ on my alarm clock radio while in bed.

Anyhoo. One thing That really grabbed me at some point in the third: ROR drives possession like a mofo. Yes, I know the eyeball confirms that, and that his #fancystats do too. But hearing the game call last night gave me a new appreciation for what that guy does. I think he's my favourite Sabre.

RJ's great. The voice and cadence is still there. The capacity to climb the ladder and screech for a full minute when he's excited isn't. I'm okay with that, he's our RJ.

  6. How important is O'Reilly to Buffalo's possession game?

O'Reilly won 16 draws, the rest of the Sabres 15.

Ocho Johnson is like watching a drunk fraternity brother walk the top of the factory wall. He'll probably make it across, but He's going to teeter and spill some beer while everyone holds their breath.

    Ennis goal was ridiculous.

Good to see Zemgus score. Was anyone else sensing frustration kicking in?

That was a fun win. A go out and win, win. Just a fun win. Love the shot production.
