I think Granato is a good coach for the NCAA or as an assistant. He could play good cop/big brother/best friend under a hard ass Tortorella type head coach.Â
The system he is using doesn't work in the NHL and his game management is atrocious. I'd also say he's a poor leader/motivator but that also falls on the (lack of) leadership.Â
There are too many nice guys around and not enough warriors who want to win badly at any cost.Â

Get mad at a ref, chew out a player, show me something that proves you care. Players rally from stuff like that. Pull the goalie after 2 goals, anything. I don't think I've ever seen him upset which is bizarre because he's the head coach. How the team plays is ultimately up to him.Â
On another note, he can't fully be blamed either because the Sabres consist of players who are all too similar. You would think 12 years of this no grit crap would inspire a change but all the GMs, coaches and players have tried the exact same strategy for 12 years.Â
It's lunacy Â

Dahlin made the exact same mistake on the third goal too. Â
We are getting beat to the puck all night. Â Totally out skated tonight. Â Not ready to play.Â
They don’t seem to worried about their coach anymore. Â
We've lost the room?

Man how can you keep going with Granato and the coaching staff, I just don't understand it anymore.
If this was football he would have been fired a month ago.

They have already squandered the chance to lock in another generation of fans due to their own ambivalence and ineptitude. Terry is among the most obtuse owners in the league, IMO.
when's the last time he attended a game? really?

A team (especially a young one) can emulate its coach. DG has as much passion as Mr. Spock and so the team plays like the limp noodles to accompany the Meatball.

Maybe so, but not against our AHL coach tonight.
Wishing Don a swift recovery as well as his brother.
