  1. People in the know have 4 different stories. It's not cut and dry. I just go off of history, character shown in the past, and concern.

The beef wasn't with Murray...PLF MIA days before trade and supposedly Nolan has extension offer.

If it is some outlier....you don't choose to have this happen NOW.

The spin coming from GR et al about Lafontaine being difficult and having concussions.....that is a John Kerry swift boat attack. Yes, Lafontaine did this before. He left after seeing Charles Wang operate who is pretty much slam dunk known as the worst owner in hockey. If anything, it shows brilliance and foresight...which with the concerns some of us have had here....and outlying this EXACT scenario given the addition of Battista and history of Pegula....it's a concern.

If Tim Murray and Craig Patrick stay, then it is much less of an issue. Murray can't leave now....Patrick, he's probably taking a nap before bridge club tonight. If he goes, it will be in the offseason to limit damages.

My heart was totally in supporting this team, and was excited about the trade deadline and making actual analysis of deals and possibilities. Now we are just back to typical 3 ring Buffalo Sabres circus.

LOVED the John Kerry swift boat attack

  2. TMI !!!

I had to fire up the DVR last night and watch the highlights of this one again. That winning OT goal by Matt D'Agostini - and the beaming expression on his face as he stood against the boards in joyous celebration - friggin priceless. It may end up being the biggest highlight of a losing, playoff drought season. It was especially good that it happened on a "hostile" network - NBCSN, and that it was Chara himself who was caught off guard. Good stuff. Ted sure has brought the hard-working hockey team back to Buffalo.

...oh yeah!...Tyler's composure and payoff, yapping little punk's expressions & antics, the runt in the box, super job & win for Jhonas, beating them in our barn, grit and desire shown by the lineup, Chara undressed to watch Matt light it up

  3. Enjoying a Rockmill Belgian Wit. May break open the Cask Aged Triple if needed. Rockmill is a small brewery in Lancaster, OH. Only distribute in Ohio for now but have plans to expand. Good stuff.

Stopped into Pearl St when I was in town for the Phoenix game. Had time for 1 pint and it was a decent IPA.

Might fire up the eherms system tomorrow too if I can find some yeast. It's been awhile since I've brewed anything. Kegs are all empty.

    I don't post much but here's a couple musings...

We live near Lancaster, OH and have had the Rockmill belgians...I'm not a big fan of belgians but Rockmill's claim to fame is how similar the local water attributes are to the water in Belgium...I totally support local business and wish them absolutely the best! As a consumer and proud American, I am happy to see the explosion of craft brewers and understand that the total number of current craft brewers in the US is now equal to the number of brewers pre-prohibition! That speaks for itself!

My preference is IPA/APA and am fortunate to enjoy the following as my faves:

Founders Brewing Grand Rapids, MI Centennial, Double Trouble

Ithaca Brewing Ithaca, NY Flower Power

    Columbus Brewing Columbus, OH Bodhi

Ballast Point San Diego, CA Sculpin

Jackie O's Athens, OH Mystic Mama

    no matter what...GO SABRES!!
