The crowd was hardly lame. Not sure what you were listening too. They were on the refs constantly and were chanting Levi after his great saves. The Amerks gave them nothing to get jacked up about. But to say the crowd was lame, is well.....lame. The crowd was great.

    Att - 10,758. So lame.

Were you really at the game, or just watching on TV?

There were almost nobody with signs. Any time anyone tried to get a “Let’s Go Amerks” chant going, it went nowhere. They handed out those “bamba sticks” and almost nobody even used them. I’ve been going to Amerks playoffs games since the 80’s, and this was the lamest crowd I’ve ever seen for an important playoff game.

The most animated the crowd got was “Refs You Suck,” which was warranted. The boys were not on their game tonight, and possibly a better crowd could have inspired them.

No. He was out there right to the end and he set up a good attempt at a tying goal.  Playing with two lifetime 3rd line grinders in Nyquist and Sissons.  All are 30+.

It shows in the playoffs that having grown men on the team helps.  We need more.

What’s wrong with Canada having teams alive?  It’s their top sport.

Didn’t you just say that they lost with the “grown men”’ on the team?

I do and so should everyone, he basically said he did a search for the best candidate and it's only 1 guy. Anyone wondering if this is a PR stunt it now would clarify that it is 100%. Why even post this?

I imagine that he posted it because he does not care about the rigamarole any longer.

Congrats to Sam, 50 goals is still a major achievement in the NFL. The 50 goals may be a one time thing, but he has also but up 232 points in 231 games for the Panthers.

50 goals in the NFL is almost impossible

Watching is one thing, but have you ever tried to listen to him call a game on the radio only? He literally can’t describe the play by play action on the ice and doesn’t even try. His TV audience can at least fill in the blanks visually, but the radio audience is completely lost.

It’s 2024. Why are you watching hockey on a radio?

Danny Briere talked about Tage being immediately dropped from his line on his show. He conjectured that the issue probably wasn't just about this game but also related to how players practiced. The game plan against this hot Seattle team that plays a very tough and structured/disciplined game was to play a more patient and simplified game. The coach didn't want his team to get frustrated and respond with over handling the puck against this defensively oriented team. When Tage over handled the puck and got caught up in the trap in his first couple of shifts, the coach quickly jerked him off the top line and relegated him to a lower line. The message was not only being sent to Tage (one of our best players) but it was also being sent to all the players that deviating from the game plan and from what the coach was instructing wasn't going to be tolerated.

Supposedly, in practice Tage was back with the top line. I have no problem with how the HC handled the situation in last night's game.

    Oh, wow.

    101.6. QB rating;  30 of 38;  350 yards 2TDs, 2 Int, 1 fumble

67 yards running with countless runs for first downs, clutch passes, big plays.

Our defense was great, special teams scored, but Allen was the will to win

Two interceptions in the red zone - without those, he wouldn’t have had to work so hard.

Without that play by Harty, they probably don’t win this game.

Allen can be maddening but you got to live with it because he is the ultimate playmaker. It works out more then it doesn’t.

2 TDs and 2 INTs - seems pretty balanced.

Defense needs to be better. No question. Power is still learning and I expect him to be better by the end of the season. Our young F's are still learning to play on both sides of the puck as well.

If we're playing UPL though, we have no chance. He done nothing but suck at the pro level.

So, you think UPL has sucked at the pro level while playing behind a team that’s learning to play defense still?

    Makes sense.

  9. I religiously drove from Rochester to Buffalo for around half of the Sabres games, every season, for many years.

Around 8 years ago, I stopped doing that. I can count on one hand how many games I’ve been to in person since then.

The reasons go beyond the team being bad. I can go watch them lose and still enjoy myself, if there are other factors. Those other factors started vanishing more after the new ownership took over.

Even if tickets were only $10 I’d question whether it would even be a fun time to attend regardless if the team is bad or not. How’s the music? How’s the arena? How’s the parking? Is there a giveaway? How’s the food? How’s the atmosphere? What are they doing during intermissions to entertain people?

They said they did all the work into improving the food at least - so, for those who have went, is it any better?
