  1. So many good head coaches available this offseason, and we're going to miss out on every single one of them

Gallant is a interesting pick and probably just might help the Sabres become the team we all think or like to believe they can be...I think we all agree there is better talent here then we showed and need someone to identify each players strengths (as babs does so well) and use them to those strengths and not wear out a few chosen

  2. friggin' Tiittsburg and the suddenly dangerous Cindy against Torts' crew outta be a interesting series...meanwhile the leafs blew their chance at ottawa so Boston gets to maybe win a series...I guess when all is and and done Toews and kane and the other bunch in Hawk-land win another cup

  3. Lombardi has saddled the Kings with crap talent and absurd contracts. Take away Doughty, an obvious #2 overall pick, and that's a crap team.

totally agree..there sure ain't much there...bunch of aging vets who are overpaid. Do think though that Sutter would not be a good fit here (of course anything looks good compared to what we got now)

  4. Gotta say, there are some real serious issues moving forward his summer and into (dare I say it) next season. While even the leafs are enjoying getting geared up for playoff hockey (like that Christmas song "It's he most wonderful time of the year"), we are left yet again to ponder more failure and agonize over what to do next. There are some serious red flags that worry me to no end, such as...

    1) Blysma back

    2) Blysma losing even more control of team next season

    3) Blysma's "system

    4) Blysma's "system" is being taught to players on the farm and they too are suffering (we have some real good talent down there but I fear guys like Bailey Fasching etc are and will suffer just as most of the players on the big team are by having this so-called "system" of Dan's shoved down their throat. Obviously they are told hey will not make he "big" team til they master hat system

    5) Finding help a "D" will not be easy and we may actually end up worse off by losing Kulikov and not being able to add anyone even close to his potential

    6) Sam regressing even more under Danny (along with other players bu we need Sam to be very good and justify being #2 pick)

I wish we could be more like the leafs   in that they are playing all their young guys and they are allowed to "do their thing" (whatever best suits them) and they are enthusiastic (when was the last time a Sabre team was called that???) and they are learning as they go. We keep guys like Bailey fasching etc in the minors and they are being wasted trying to learn his "system" Danny deems so efficient and worthy.Maybe GMTM even agrees with his viewpoint, which is even more cause for worry. I do worry alo (my wife says that is why I have high blood-pressure and had a near fatal heart attack and am now disabled!). Oh well, the joys of being a Sabre fan!

  5. "My goal coming to the Buffalo Sabres was it was going to be a process, but be in the process of developing a winning culture and team. I think we're in that process right now, but it's one I have to be judged on. We fell short of where we thought we could be, hope we could be and I take full responsibility for that. "  How the hell does he think he is creating some sort of "winning" culture or environment? The team looks beat before the puck is even dropped most of the time and certainly mailed-in points far too many times. I am seriously concerned that for whatever reason, Blysma, and TM for that mater, actually think that they are "creating" something here (other then a crappy lifeless team that doesn;t seem to care most games)

"I don't know the narrative. We have conversations with the players about the system, we believe we're on the same page and have a good understanding of that system and how we play. So, I feel like there's not a disconnect. They're part of the conversation and part of how we play. That's something we all have ownership in." Obviously Blysma and his "system" will be her next season...can't wait for a rerun of this past season...yippee

  6. I can't help but wonder or think that these players are not so much "passengers" as they are opposed to the current coaching "system" and how they are being used...funny both Kulikov and Bogo played a whole lot better when Riosto was suspended and those two played huge minutes. It would seem Blysma's system gets virtually nothing out of too many players on the roster just as it seems this "system" did in Pittsburg where he was run out of town for dragging down that team.

  7. mind you at the time signing Gorges was actually deemed a good signing and the leafs among other teams wanted him too...he sure looked better in Montreal then he has here...couldn;t be coaching could it??I also see the Bogo trade as him for Myers and isn't Tyler making a big amount of coin too? I thought he signed some big crazy contract or am I mistaken? not sure on that one

  8. Do you see an issue with the ###### product that has been out on the ice the past three years? If the cap hits don't bother you, this sure as hell should. This team is a disaster.

sad thing is we are close to the cap and will have to re-sign Jack Sam etc...and losing Kane to free agency would be a real bummer...we need to free up space and sign him our top goal scorer or trade him this summer instead of losing him we did Danny and Drury for nothing

  9. I think the leafs just proved that great coaching can make a team much better and ensure they beat teams they should beat (which we do not do losing to every team below us in the standings) while the best coaching in the world can't make the leafs (or any team for that matter) good enough to beat a team with superior talent as we saw against the Caps and Jackets...

  10. I think it is safe to say that they will roll out he "injury" excuse...there is no doubt injuries played a part in this year's complete failure but the truth is team's find a way around injuries but we are far beyond blaming only injuries...I have no doubt DB will be back next season and we will be yet again a fringe at best team that has too many players trying to be what they aren't cause that's DB's "system"...LIndy's looking better by the minute! and yes our goaltending was far better then they have been getting credit for...

  11. I think the roster needs some work but I don't think it "sucks" by any stretch of the imagination. Honestly I don't think it's much worse if at all worse than Toronto, Boston or Ottawa. It's the coach pulling the strings who isn't getting the most of the players on it or the players don't want to play for him. Either way, regardless of whose fault it is, he is a dead man walking, no matter how long he is here. This team is simply uninspired by him, and that is a death knell for any coach

totally agree..there is very little to pick between the Sabres, certainly Ottawa, the Leafs, the Bruins, and certainly Boston. We can see that this team is totally uninspired and looks to be trying to get BLysma fired. Unfortunately, I do think we'll see himback for next season with us hearing that injuries played a big part in the failures of this past season. Injuries were a major factor but overall clearly Blysma just isn't the man for this job...scary to think we will see him there behind the bench again next season (foro how long who knows but I do think he'll be there at the start)

  12. Lindy would be a great choice for vegas...Dallas is alot like the Sabres in that they have good forwards but their d is not great and their goaltending is not NHL calibre (I think we have better goaltending)...the first thing Dallas needs to do is get  goalie...as for bringing Lindy back???this is the same board that was running him out of town not too long ago (me included although I still prefer him to Blysma's "system")

  13. knowing our luck we may actually win a draft lottery for once and there is no one anybody really cares about..strange how the NHL made sure everybody else won their lottery and got who they wanted but we keep losing and being moved down...even friggin' Winnipeg got a nice bonus last year by being moved up to get Laine...I think this season hurts more becuase this was not like a tank year or anything...I think us silly fans thought or believed (or wanted to believe) this team would be better and knocking on the door of a playoff spot...instead we are kinda back to where we were a few years back...hanging around the 8 to 10th worse spot so we are well out of the playoffs but not drafting high enough to get anybody real good (we did that for years back when Darcy and Lindy ruled the roost)...

  14. giphy.gif

Well this season is almost over, felt worse than our two tank seasons :(

it is far worse cause there's nothing to look forward to nor is there any real reward for being so bad...draft is not a great one and really is there any reason to think or believe i will be better next season with Danny behind the bench?
