Seeing that graphic about the blues PP improvement with coaching changing and adding a PP consultant in Brad Richard's makes me absolutely sick and even more mad at Adams -
Samuelsson out for the remainder of the Season

Maybe this will force Adams to finally make a trade for a top 4 dman ??? crack myself up there -
So jealous of them.

How to retool the Sabres forward group?
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Im still gonna disagree with you. The top 9 at full health is already in place for next season Fixing the 4th line will have a ripple effect throughout the entire line up. You need guys that bring "it" every night; who can forecheck and play physical. I'll be amazed if any of cozens, JJP, Tage, Quinn, Benson and Tuch are moved Greenway, Skinner and Mitts? I'd hate to see Mitts traded at this point, Skinner is probably untradable and Greenway brings what the Sabres don't have in any other forward of course, if they can bring in a top pair dman to pair with Dahlin or Power, I'm open to the possibility -
Good news is that he will have a full offseason to prepare for next season bad luck with injuries for the kid. I still have no doubt he is a "core" player for the Sabres hoping to see Kulich, been in a scoring slump since the WJC but rather see him than #71

Playing him has just as good as chance of reducing his trade value even further

Has a GM ever had a worse off season???
Crusader1969 replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
Yep that was a bad off-season for sure Remind me was it the Sabres decision to not sign Briere or Drury? I think they thought they would be able re-sign drury and let Briere walk It was probably the off-season where this franchise became a joke. Sure they were able to make the playoffs a couple of times after this but never really considered to be cup contenders Just looked it up, Sabres have not won a playoff series since this off-season!!! Prediction Time: Will DG be fired during the season? If so, when?
Crusader1969 replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
I read today that with UPL and Levi in the net, they are playing at an 88 points pace. So really not much worse than last year if you delete the comrie adventure in goaltending. -

100% agree with everything here. The hammer comes down next week or we are riding out the season with Don and the staff, unless the go into a complete tailspain and lose like 8 in a row .... how long did it take before Ralph was fired ? 17 in a row ??? -

Peca is better off but I'm worrying about the Sabres. No way they wouldn't benefit from him working the PP and teaching them how to win face offs -

Not just limiting this to the NHL or Sabres but when has a GM had a worse off season to what Adams had last year? What he got wrong 1) 3 headed goalie 2) Let Peca walk cause there was no room on the Sabres bench 3) 5 UFA signings have been meh at best, playing in the minors at worse 4) didn't sign guys who could make a difference on the 4th line team lacked sandpaper last year and he did nothing to rectify 5) didn't find the vet partner for Power 6) didn't go outside the organization to fill in for Quinn 7) Didn't find a trade partner for #71 8- didn't see the issues with the PP last year - one timer for Tage was all they had. PP dried up late last season and died this season. Left in the hands of Matt Ellis the one thing he didn't do that would clinch "worst ever" is sign someone to a too long, too much UFA contract what he got right 1) drafted Benson. Seems the draft class again is once again pretty decent from top to bottom 2) didn't strangle himself with a long term , high salary UFA 3) built a pretty good Amerks team I would say his in season GM'ing hasn't been much better

harbaugh to the chargers. - another coach in the conference who is better than McDermott

I was going to reply yes but remember Rod Brind'amour was once a rookie coach and maybe Mike Peca would be fine BUT then I looked it up - Brind'amour was an assistant coach for 7 years before finally being hired as head Coach. Peca will have 1 year NHL assistant coaching experience. Just not enough so now I'm in 100% agreement with you NO ROOKIE HEAD COACHES!

Tomorrow is the day if they lose tonight call me an optimist 🙂 -
yep, same thing was said of the Bills and I don't think thats a problem at the moment. Get a competent coaching staff, fix the holes in the roster, may have to go the trade route...wait they NEED to go the trade route to start. Start winning and the perception quickly changes. A year ago I was teasing my friends who cheer for the Canucks and thanking them for becoming the clown franchise of the league, taking over from the Sabres at long last... Hire Rick Tocchet in Jan 2023, a few good decisions on building the roster and now look. Since hiring Toccet. they signed Ian Cole, Teddy Blueger, Carson Soucy All via UFA market Traded for Sam Lafferty in Oct for 5th round pick Traded for Nikita Zadorov Side note - Im old enough to remember people laughing at the notion of brining back Tyler Myers last year when the Canucks wanted to dump him.I also remember the reacton when I suggested Zadorov as an option on the bottom pair.... and there they are Myers TOI is 20mins per game and Big Z is plays 18 to 20 mins. for the team we could only dream about becoming. Thats all theyve done. They did not blow it up They hired a coach who knows what he is doing They literally brought in footsoldiers in Lafferty and Blueger Made 1 splash with Soucy and then added 2 serviceable Dmen in Zadorov and Cole. Crazy to think how poor Adams did this past off-season

I'd still like them to keep Mitts. Only way I'd like to see him traded is if he is a piece that brings in a top pair RHD. however, he needs to be scratched tonight. 2 games in a row his carelessness with the puck directly led to the opponents first goal
