  1. couldnt have said that better myself. This is such an amazing time of the year and finally our team is not only in the playoff hunt, but we have the chance to be on top of the division and maybe even the league. There should be a playoff-like atmosphere in Ottawa tonight. IMO, goaltending wins this game....we know both these teams can score, but who can make the most important saves? I give the edge to the Sabres in that department...Ottawa is forced to start Emery or Morrisson, and neither one of them is playing particually well lately. Hopefully Miller puts in another solid performance like the one he had against the Maple Laughs the other night....GO SABRES
  2. Vanek just undressed Boynton on that goal....although I am sure he should get a diving penalty
  3. The guys playing the point get caught multiple times every game when on the PP....I have seen Teppo get caught about 3 times tonight alone....props to Kotalik on the last one though because he hustled to get back and break up a play that looked like it was going to turn into a goal....btw what a shift late in the period by Grier-Hecht-Gaustad...not a usual line but they were effective...all of them are so strong on the puck, they cycled it so well down low that it made the Bruins look like they were spectators instead of players.
  4. that was a nice goal...this game is pretty chippy too...Afinogenov just crushed Boyes on the boards....thats right Afinogenov
  5. WOOOHOO...Gaustad just dropped em with Boynton, that whiney little girl...crap fight but hey I am glad Paul did something about that guy
  6. That was awesome. You gotta love the atmosphere surrounding our home games this season. It's been a while since this city has been so fired up about hockey!
  7. Wow Darcy really should have listened to some of the brilliant hockey minds on this board (like ToddKaz) and traded Roy, what a bum
  8. umm what is going on here...4-4??? good defense everybody...jeez EDIT: OHHHHHHHHH what a sweet play/goal by ROY!
  9. When Briere went down, a lot of people were like it's not that big of a deal, we have a lot of good forwards...and it is true we have alot of good ones, but I think Briere is our most talented, and I think he has been since he got here. That's just my opinion, but look at the lift this guy has given us since he came back....5 points in the last 2 games, add in tonight and its 7 in the last 3.....he is one of the most underrated players in the league
  10. A win tonite puts us just 2 points behind Ottawa for first in the division. My prediction is that the Sabres will come out fired up because they know for sure now that they're all here for the stretch run and no one who actually plays got shipped out. Although I am curious to see the line of Drury-Kotalik-2nd round pick, what a dangerous trio
  11. Anyone know who the starting goalie is tonight? Do you think Marty deserves another start? Cuz I sure as hell do, especially if we are planning on keeping him and not trading him. The Bruins are frustrated over losing that last one to us. After the game Raycroft said its frustrating when "we play as good as they do and it's not enough to win." I think Thomas gets the start in goal for the B's tonight. They know there are trades coming too, which might weigh on their players' minds. I say 4-2 Buffalo
  12. Can we say 6-2????!! By the way, how the hell does McKee get a penalty for talking to Domi....nice job "new" NHL, way to reinforce the idea that if you stick up for your teammates, you are doing the wrong thing.
  13. It's about time the refs start calling Sundin for some of his b.s. If you remember the last time we played the leafs, he was getting away with murder out there. He actually punched one of our players (Grier maybe?) behind the play and didnt even get called. Go Sabres
  14. The broadcast just kicked on finally! So were there any good hits in the first period?? How is the offense looking?
  15. I go to college in Fredonia, so I am stuck with standard Time Warner Cable. I have not had any regular games blacked out this year, and I checked the MSG website and it says this game should be on. I dont get it
  16. Hahaha yea I wanted to rip those gold chains off the one guy and strangle him. Well it SOUNDED cool since I had to listen to it on NHL.com game radio
  17. Why the hell is the pregame blacked out on MSG, along with the Lafontaine ceremonY????? On the "TV Guide Channel" it says its supposed to be on.....I am absolutely livid, this is bullsh*t. Right now the taped repeat "PokerStars II" is on my TV and not the damn ceremony. I HATE MSG, we need to get a new TV deal, because the Sabres are last in line all the time when it comes to that channel.
  18. I agree, for some reason I like the white jerseys to be the home ones. Maybe it's because I hate the Sabres black jerseys. By the way for anyone going to the game tonight, if you are sitting in section 118 or 117 on the end you are in luck because I sat in 118 for Danny Gare night and all of the Sabres alumni came right down the aisle I was sitting on and I got to shake hands and talk with many of them. It was quite an experience
  19. I'll be in the center of my couch wearing a t-shirt and drinking a 12 pack of Rolling Rock....shoot me
  20. The matchup against Ottawa Saturday night is shaping up to be a great one. We can skate with those guys, they don't have the depth that we have, and this Sabres team is much different than the one that got beaten so badly earlier in the year by the Sens...time to prove to the rest of the NHL that we are the real deal, because this team never gets the credit it deserves
  21. The US GM Don Waddell is a complete tool who got his job just because he drafted Kovalchuk and Heatley, which were two obvious picks that a monkey could have made. He has no eye for talent, if you want proof look at his team which is yet to make the playoffs ever. Miller is 100 times better than Esche, Grahame, and DiPietro.
  22. Campbell just rang it off the pipe...if you notice, Esche has been trying to see through a heavy screen tonight. One of the long shots is going to go in sooner or later with that happening.
