  1. One of our engineers is leaving. We've known about it for months. No one has been hired to fill his spot.  :wallbash:

everyday occurrence where I work.  They take the "split his duties amongst the rest" stance.  Yes, it improves our profit margin, but it takes a hell of a toll on the rest of us...

  2. So today is my birthday, and my wife made me two home made presents.  The first was a large photo frame with 4 pictures in it with the words "We Love You Dad" next to each picture of my twins.  Made me tear up.

But then she almost tops that with the promise that I can buy the one thing that I've wanted since I was a little boy: Bills season tickets, for next season.  She had gone back and forth the last two years, and she finally caved in after I bought the boys their first Bills jerseys (they already had their first Sabres sweaters, don't worry).  Awesome day :)

  3. It was a great play by TT, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying Clay had to flatten out a little before catching the ball whereas if it's more vertical he scores easily. Clay's lack of speed isn't what prevented the score as d4rk suggested. Flattening out gave the defender a better angle to close the gap.

    GO BILLS!!!

Don't think he was suggesting lack of speed.  Think he was suggesting that Clay was gassed after that route.  Man ran a lot more than just 59 yards vertical.  I laughed too at what appeared to me as him running out of gas.

  4. D4rk, that is a great assessment, and I like how you laid those options out.  I couldn't agree more with you, and honestly, as an Army Brat of an Army Brat (my mom and her dad have a combined 70 years of service in the US Army), hope that option 2 is never reached.

i agree that the American people need to understand the full repercussions of war if it is decided to go to war.

  5. Other then waiting for Vesey, do you think GMTM is done tinkering with the Sabres roster?  I know there are the Fowler rumors, the trade Kane rumors or that Girgensons is on the block, but I don't believe any of it at this point.  I think GMTM is happy with his balanced D.  Kane isn't going anywhere for now as his trade value is diminished with the charges pending and I believe GMTM is content for now to allow some of the kids (Carrier, Nylander, Nelson, Guhle, Fasching and Bailey) to compete for NHL jobs for cap and developmental reasons.

    Thoughts?

I believe GMTM always has an ear to the ground for possible moves, but that he may be counting on Guhle to take a roster spot this year for the D.

  6. Just started playing golf 2 summers ago.  My dad gave me some old clubs of his, and I've been trying to get out whenever I can.  Well, tomorrow will be the first time I get to play 18 holes with my dad, and I couldn't be more excited! Gonna go hit a large bucket of balls at the driving range around the corner from work at lunch time today to get ready  :D  B-)

  7. I'm ok for 6.

I'd like to vote now also on the possibility of making it a partial keeper league. If we want to do this, we should decide before the draft.

I like the partial keeper idea

Just a thought here, and it's outside the box, so if nobody likes it then no problem.  What if (starting next years draft) the team that wins the championship gets to choose which position they want to start in the draft the next year?  The runner up would get second choice etc., all the way down to the team that comes in last getting whichever of the 12 spots in the draft is left?  It would be the reverse tanking type of thing that hockey has.  This may encourage people to still make lineup changes etc. late in the season even if they're out of the playoffs.  It's not a huge incentive as it would still be a snake draft format but would probably give the slightest of advantages.  Thoughts?

    I like this too!

  8. I've been doing that. It always tells me if I keep doing exactly what I"m doing, I'd weigh my low goal amount in a few weeks.

It's been months. Well, I've been doing that app for years so... Years.

I even went and tried that for awhile. Kept the physical activity about the same, even increased it a little. Guess what? Packed on weight and went up 2 sizes. So much for that theory.

well .  nevermind that then  ;)

  9. told to do a proof of concept for something at work, that really shouldn't require a proof of concept.  Got a piece of equipment in for said proof of concept, with no guidance, missing the most important parts, and no paperwork...yayyyy  <_<

  10. So he's a bust because he misses, max, his rookie year?

If the goal is to win NOW, and replace Mario, picking someone who isn't going to play this year with our first pick seems almost sillier than the 2 picks for Sammy (I'm coming around to that camp's thinking).

I wouldn't say Lawson is a bust, just the folks who picked him  ;)

  11. He had a decent season (at best) but should've been far better considering he was given big opportunities with elite forwards in Colorado.

I think he's worth around $1.2 million on a one-year deal. If he doesn't take a step forward then you may just cut bait and let somebody else pay him that.

I didn't see him as much as you probably did, but I have a hard time saying he's worth over a mil at this point.

  12. ESPN's Riddick on Howard Simon show this morning saying Lawson could miss anywhere from half to whole season?  Guy sounded just irritated to talk about the Bills, and sounded like he was all opinion, little facts.

WGR already has a post up saying sources dispute the timetable for Lawson.  I really hope the sources are right and this gets put to bed sooner rather than later.
