  1. The source of the negativity is very simple.  You don't sit through the past 15 years without doubting this team.  It's perfectly understandable to question them at this point.

Is it sizzle that usually does the good photoshops?  We need one of a buffalo snapping a football.

The turnover thing surprises me.  It feels like up until last night we really haven't been forcing many turnovers.  I remember that exact thought coming to mind right before that Graham TD in the Jacksonville game.

Take that stinker in London out of the equation, and our turnover ratio was #3 to that point IIRC.

Last night's game was exactly what I expected.  4 day turnaround for this team, on the road in a typically hostile environment, against a division rival.  We pulled the game out.  That's all I could've asked for, and I am happy for it.

We have 11 days to prepare for NE.  I don't expect to win, but I expect a much closer game than the first one.

  2. Customer service is only as good as the company itself. If a company doesn't take itself seriously, they'll have bad customer service.

It amazes me how many bad businesses manage to hang around.

Very true on the first part.  I couldn't agree more on the second.

  3. Customer service.  It has apparently gone the way of the dodo.  Had something on order at work for a broken piece of equipment.  Was told at time of order that it would take 16 weeks to manufacture.  LONG lead if you ask me,  but hey, it is what it is.

Get constant forwarded emails from procurement telling me that it is on schedule per their sales team.

Get an email yesterday from supplier, that they are no longer on track, that they lost a blueprint, and that they don't have a good delivery time now.  Meanwhile, I've been outsourcing the work that goes on that machine, losing OI left and right on a monthly basis because of that, and now I don't have a good due date?!

Had a VP here email their sales manager only to get an email back saying that the sales team is only the messengers for production and manufacturing, and please don't shoot the messenger, and because of an ownership change 1.5 years ago, they should get a pass because they just are not up to standards yet.

WOAH!  WHAT?!  So now I'm 16 weeks into this, they tell me they need to requote this project, and that they don't have a good due date?   it.  I just got approval to buy a new machine from  a new vendor and to completely cancel the last order if the price is right (which, I think it will be).

  4. :w00t:

Sooooo...Sabrespace picks the names by committee right?

Maybe a Tom Webster birth day pool?

Due date is currently set as 4/12, but twins rarely go full 40 weeks.  have at it with the birthday pool haha! we already picked the names (picked 4, as we won't know genders until Nov 30)

  5. It is, Johnny.

    It is.

It looks like it might sweep right over me here in Texas in a few days.

Are you right in DFW? I'm going down there for a composites trade show and to visit customers all next week.  I fly in during the Bills game  :censored:  Going to need to pay for wifi on the plane, and then find somewhere to hide in the airport to catch the end of the game.  Any advice on bars to go to to catch later games with a coworker or two?

  6.

Prospective Father Advice (this is all "negative" stuff, but it's stuff that I wish I'd taken more to heart):

    • Do everything you think you're going to do when the babies are around RIGHT NOW. You're not going to get to it for months after.
    • If the pregnancy isn't hitting MrsMenace too bad, travel and do everything you can now, too. It's a lot easier caring for a baby when it's on the inside.
    • Don't turn down any help for the first weeks after the kids show up, doubly so for you. MrsPie had help, but due to location it was only a week then we were on our own with some visits from the grandparents. That was, and is, really hard.
    • If you can manage it, stay up late caring for the baby while MrsMenace sleeps for 4 uninterrupted hours and then you sleep for a few hours. Feeding may interrupt that, of course, but do your best.

Trying to plan a surprise "baby-moon" with the mrs.  We'll see about where we go in the middle of winter lol. Thank you for the advice.

dEnnis, you've been presented with the perfect opportunity:  Fantasy Draft!

Each of you picks one, you raise them according to your own plan and then see which turns out better.  You let the wife pick first because, well, it's only fair.  It would work well with identicals, but hey, you play the cards you're dealt. Winner gets $20.

    Game on!! haha

    Thank you everyone!

  7. I know it's the jags and we (should) beat them....but is anyone hree a little worried that our injuries and EJ starting may make this a close game if not an upset.... In past years I wouldn't start fantasy players against the Bills D, but this year I'm contemplating it.

    Yes, very

  8. Been waiting to officially post the news (although I kind of let it slip in another thread).  Mrs Menace and I are expecting to add 2 new Buffalo fans to world.  expecting fraternal twins around playoff time (late March early April).  Still haven't announced on Facebook yet, but we've told all of our family and our closest friends.  I still need to reach out to a few far off friends (service members and others).  Couldn't be more excited.  Completely unexpected (the twins aspect that is).  Going for our second ultrasound on Nov. 3rd.  I've already talked to work about getting every doctors appointment off. There was nothing more fantastic than seeing both of the little ones move around on the screen.  Not going to lie, I shed a tear.

  9. @ChrisBrownBills: John Miller had death in family and will not play Sunday. #Bills

so the right side of the Bills OL will be Kraig Urbik and Cyrus Kouandjio on Sunday. Aww ######

EJ must feel like a man on death row with his sentence looming

  10. I think you're looking for the other thread, the one PA started....

I haven't been completely clean shaven in 5 years. I'd feel weird without my beard

    Haha maybe

I had to be completely clean shaven for a respirator fit test at work about a month back.  I almost cried at losing my beard.  I typically keep it well trimmed and professional, but since the respirator fit test, I haven't even trimmed my beard.  It's fantastic.

  11. I never thought of that, a good point. The other problem with that, is Jaws and Godzilla serve two entirely different purposes. The thrill of Godzilla is his sheer monstrosity and ass-kicking abilities, the thrill of Jaws is his size but as you allude to, his random appearances. The scene that really raised my hairs on Godzilla is when he roared for the first time, and when he first used his fire. Other than that, show me monster battles, dammit!

    Yes...just, yes.
