Doc in complaint thread you asked about AK... Northern exposure was a short lived sitcom I think in the 90s. The dark winter months can be brutal... though your services are probably very needed up there. Lots of alcoholism and suicides... PS I too hate some of your profession, my oncologist who is administering my chemo is such a negative nancy and little nasty critter.... that being said he got his protocol from a very positive guy at Cornell Weil so I have faith in what they are doing if not him.
Plus I am always correcting some internist who has no idea what they are ordering, hasn't looked at the patient's chart to find said order was already completed and results or are placing a duplicate order etc...
Being in a place and working with people you like is crucial imo. The work itself can be mundane as long as I am with good people or being left alone. As I get older, money is important only in as much as it is sufficient to do the things you want, after that it is about control and power
