He chose not to sign before he got into this business school and decided to get an MBA or whatever degree he is after.   Although I am sure he is bright young man, getting a business degree does not constitute extreme intelligence by any stretch.

He just told the world that his agent told him not to sign in Buffalo.  So that is what he did.

We spent a 3rd on him and we got a 3rd back - but he wasted our time and left a hole in the pipeline.   I wish the NHL would put a stop to this loop hole with the NCAA kids.

Unlike most highly coveted college players who take basket weaving at Michigan, McGroarty, West and  Brindley! I would be shocked if McGroarty could spell his own last name . That is not Portillo. I think you would have to go a long way back in the archives to find a NHL prospect in the Ross program at U of M. So yeah highly intelligent is appropriate. He was never signing in Buffalo once the Reinhardt trade happened. Move on.

Banning 80% of your season ticket holders would be a very bold move.

its obvious they can ill afford to spend that money on season tickets and they are not true fans!

You should be more angry at the team for not sending all of those people home mad for wasting their money on a loss.

    for Torontonians that's chump change.

And Myers went late 1st round for a reason even though he was even bigger than Power.  Myers was paired w/ Tallinder his rookie year & that was huge for him.

When Hank left Myers took a huge step back.

Power played against men at 18 in the Olympics and played well.  Power has been the better player on his pairing almost the entire season, he hasn't been getting support, he's been providing the support.

    Apples and oranges.

Not quite. My point being it takes at least four years to realize what you ultimately have in a defenseman. Meyers was 19 yrs old when he made his debut in the NHL and won the Calder. He and Powers have similar size and skating style. He also was not a late round pick. He was picked # 12 and I must say the 4 defensemen picked before him all have Stanley Cups; Daughty, Bogosian,  Pietrangelo and Schenn. Taken after Meyers was Karlsson. That being said looking back where does Tyler Meyers rank compared to these other first round draft picks? The loss of Hank had nothing to do with Meyers falling flat on his face. He came in the next year after the Calder, over weight and out of shape. He was in no condition to take the next step. Matter fact the next two summers were the same. Sooo it is apple to apples and I hope we don't have another Meyers on our hands. Its just way way to early to tell.

Powerdidn't look great tonight. A few mistakes whiffed on the puck a couple times.  For the first time in a while he looked like a 19 year old rookie.

Power’s did not play like a Calder candidate and we really need to stop discussing Norris potential. It’s gonna be at least another four years before we know what we really have in him. Like I said before, Tyler Meyers won the Calder as a Sabres and everyone thought he was the second coming of Chara and a future Norris winner, not so much huh

Unfortunately, it's not horse *****. And honestly, given the products last decade, people have better things to spend there money on.

What really happens is fans who cant really afford season tickets target these games to get there money back or break even. This is an old tradition even when Sabres were doing well in 2005/6. Freaking douchebag Sabres fans selling out to Leafs fans. Its nothing new

  6. Just a reminder that Tyler Meyers won the Calder and look how that panned out. Its takes time for defensemen to reach superstar status so lets not let analytics skew our sensibilities. Donny gives him lots of rope where as with some coaches he might be at the end of the bench with the mistakes I've seen him make. Give me the slow and steady growth of a Hedman anyday.

    And another thing....😀

There are are certain athletes in sports that just look different. That just pop when you watch them play. Levi is one of them. He just looks special. His combination of skating ability, tracking, concentration and positioning and quickness make him stand out among his peers. It still sticks in my craw that the Olympic team didn’t give him the net for a game. He has the pedigree, ability and attitude to be special.

I think he signs this season.

My worry is if he plays in Rochester next year while the Sabres go with UPL and Comrie and it doesn’t improve that there will be a ton of pressure to call him up prematurely. He is not a kid who rushes through anything with his career.

I wanna know how a dude this tall 6'-0" has a 40" waste? WTF Thats the pants size of a beer dad in Kaiser town!

I understand that. I just don’t see the one piece that St. Louis got back that makes it worth retaining 50% on. The best piece is the first that will be very late.

This looks like a deal where St. Louis was desperate to get rid of their captain rather than a deal where they had a prime asset and waited for that one piece they wanted.

It is a quantity over quality trade especially since they threw in Acciari who is a valuable playoff piece.

Maybe other teams think ROR is shot based on this season and didn’t want to offer anything of substance.

With all due respect to your scout friend, I’m not sure why this means much. It’s just another opinion.

NHL teams whiff on goalie projections all the time.

Scouts suck! The failure rate in the NHL draft is close to 85%. If they would change the draft age to 20 they would bomb so much and its even worse when scouting goalies
