Why hasn't anyone gone nuts on Sabres coaching for bringing back Roy in the playoffs for 1 game last year when he obviously wasn't ready? I speculated he was in trouble with that knee last year and thought it was stupid, and after seeing the results this year......what say you?
I hate him but thats besides the point. He had medical clearance to plaoy and we were looking at elimination. If he was cleared and ready why not? You're saying he wasn't ready and that certainly appeared to be the case and we should go nuts on everyone for letting him play. I agree but then I want them gone too. I cant imagine anyone watched him practice and said he looks good to go. I can only imagine the fog of an elimination game set in and they thought they were being smart by letting him play and give the team an emotional and competitive edge. LOL haha ah :doh: They should all be fired for that thinking.

I may not buy into Liger's "millenial" posts at face value as I have not performed the research necessary to know whether he is posting valid scientific fact and / or theory or just pure garbage. But I will admit that all of the Boomer-era folks who have responded along the lines of "Ahhh ya silly kiddo and your theories ha ha ha" brings to mind mental images of "older-generation" folks telling Darwin he was nuts while he was doing his research on birds in the Galapagos Islands. Or the same type of people laughing when theories arose that the Earth was actually round[ish] rather than flat.

Do yourself a favor - get together with your girlfriend this weekend and watch "A Few Good Men" starring Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Keifer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon and Noah Wylie.
It is a must see film from the 90's. You will miss quotes and jokes for decades if you don't watch this movie.

I agree with your rant in another thread about still no NFL Network if you have T-W. I posted this link over at TBD last month. As I mentioned over there, I'm actually more pissed I can't get the NFL Red Zone channel, which is better than having the NFL Season Ticket package!

People complaining about Chet and Muffy types in the 200 level. We're not all like that you know :doh: Some of us season ticket holders in that level are actually kind of cool. Just like some but not all of the people in the 300's or the 100's. Stop buy at the bar on the 200 level AFTER the game. You're allowed in there then. A certain poster I would even buy a drink for.

That's what I thought about a career in academia before I came back for grad school. Key word: before. To really, really make it cushy in academia (at least engineering/sciences, I'll say), you have to make it at a top school, and then you've got years of political b.s.: scrambling for grants, endlessly writing proposals, competing for alliances between professors, networking with completely fake douches from universities across the country, etc. Once you get tenure, though, you get to breathe a wee bit...

I thought the new cable box/dvr's were the Cisco ones? That is what I have been told in the past and every time I ask, I am told they don't have any available for swaps.
Huh? Are you near the stand alone TW building on Union? They should do an immediate swap no questions asked.
If you make them come for a service call to check it out the tech will start by replacing the box. I'm still using and older HD DVR and it is a problem almost everyday but I am loathe to transfer the crap I have on the dvr to a dvd. I had the ice bowl and the pre game and had to dump the game for space once a space. Still have the pre game which is cool. I like the size of the new whole house hd dvr its huge but I dont need the rest of the service. I was unaware they are into Cisco boxes now. I dont think mine even has an hdmi port. I'm still using Component cables until the tv dies and then I need a tv and a receiver and get up to date.

Here we are almost a year after my HD TV purchase, and my T-W feed for some channels is still crap. Fast moving close-ups of sports or action movies results in varying amounts of pixelating on many channels. I have had them out numerous times to no avail. I know it is not the TV, because sports on some channels(ESPN), I don't see the problem at all. Other channels(NBC), are horrible and I see it all the time.
If they are compressing the signal as some here previously suggested, they are never going to own up to it. Therefore, I either live with it, keep making them come out to be a pain in the ass, or switch to having a Wok on the side of my house(no thanks).
PS Verizon has stalled on their FIOS deployment in WNY, so I am screwed in that regard.
They are compressing signals. The only pure signal is ota hd. TW sucks and I am lamenting the stall in FIOS as I want to get away from TW so bad for long I cant stand it and I think, their was some regulation passed that said MSG HD would have to be made available to FIOS also. Not positive and it doesn't matter until FIOS gets a few more miles down the road and into Cheektowaga. But when?
There my complaint. Vrizon get FIOS movinmg again!
I would also suggest simply swapping thje box out for another which is advantage of TW. Are you running an older box or newer? The old ones are choking on all the information being sent to them.

I know I already complained about it, but my god, I've never seen anything like this. People who just have to get through that red light so they block the intersection. This of course happening in all 4 directions at the same time. Cars who get sick of waiting that they decide to drive down the wrong side of the road... and of course cars start coming that direction the second they do. 40 minutes for a drive that I could walk in about 5-10. I need a 6 pack.
Can I just add the a holes who cruise up the shoulder on the 290 about a mile away from the next exit while you are sitting still in the lane and wanna take your mirrors off.
