  1. What a shift by Reinhart to create that goal. He's had a much better game. A great one, actually.

For the first time this year I agree that Sam had a nice game.

Gave up a first rounder for this stiff

Lehner is so bad i wanna puke when it comes to shootouts, holy moly, he is SO BAD.

We have seen this over and over and over again, he cant not even save ONE, and db just keeps him in the net, pathetic.

Im so tired of this bs.

Lehner fingggggggggggg sucks. God dam terrible. Gives up 3 goals a game and fingggggg sucks. Our team can't score in a god dam shootout and lehner the bum hasn't made a save in a shootout yet has he??? This is beyond pathetic. I'm disgusted

OMG I know. He should have been pulled after the 1st period cause it should have been 3-0 then.

  2. Prior to (716) opening, you could oftentimes find a few Sabres in the Cobblestone after the game. Is that still where they tend to go, or have they shifted to (716)?

There's a glassed in room with security upstairs at 716 and you will see some guys there after a game depending on conditions of course. Are they flying out right away etc.

  3. He is not conceding the C if he stays. No way, no how

That's the biggest problem I have with the notion of him staying. We're moving on. Surely we can fill the spot. No disrespect to Gio but I agree with your thought that he won't voluntarily give up the C so there is no deal.

  4. I think Zemgus struggles in the strict scheme that Bylsma runs vs. the more open, or lack of, scheme that Nolan used.  Zemgus maybe likes to run around some and he can't do that in Bylsma game and seems lost.  I think Ennis is the same way.  Could Zemgus replace Gionta on the wing with Larsson and Foligno?

Hmm that's an interesting thought and I think makes a sweet line. Will any of them be here though?

fair enough, but I still want a 3C that can win important face offs, gus will never be that guy.

    There's merit in this comment.

  5. Darcy and GMTM

Neither has put Zemgus in a position to develop.

What do you suggest GMTM do to help him? send him down?

I love Larsson and he is a far more effective player at the moment than Gus, but he needs to produce 30-35 points a season consistently and be a better PKer to be the player most of us picture him to be and earn any kind of big contract.

I think he's over his dreams of being a second line centre. Seems focused on be all that he can be in his role.

If he doesn't fancy himself as a second line center and is focused on being all that he can be, I go back to what I see as a problem with him. Consistency. To date he does not have it and never has. Why is that if he truly accepts his role?

  6. It would take a major turn around for Zemgus to overtake Larsson. Larsson always is moving his feet, plays solidly in all 3 zones, and has some offense to his game. Zemgus occasionally moves his feet, occasionally is physical, and hasn't shown any offense to his game in over a year. A long way to go for Zemgus, I hope he puts it all together but I have my doubts.

If Gus doesn't make it do you blame Darcy or Dan? If goes somewhere else and does well the answer will be obvious.

    You could certainly himself too.

  7. Larsson is an RFA, whats he gonna do? Ask for a trade, sit out, or take the deal he gets. Those are his options.

This will play out before the offseason I think. One of them is an add on in a deal somewhere. The add in on a Fowler deal lets say. I'm hoping Gus really starts to get it and improves. I like both guys but just see one of them moving on. Today I would say without a doubt it would be Gus. Come trade deadline that may not be the case though.

  8. Larsson ain't going nowhere. He's at least our 4th most important forward. Yes he's ahead of Reino and Kane.

Larsson has taken the spot that was supposed to be for gus, and he is better at it.    I want a 3C that can win a FO.

Never saw Zemgus being that one, was hoping for grigorenko back in the day but larsson is our 3C.

While I can agree with both of you I will offer up these two facts, Larry is still way to inconsistent and if he's looking for a lot of $ GMTM may say good luck. Furthermore if Larry sees himself as a 2nd line C still or again he's gone of his own choosing if some team offers him that role and nobody should feel bad about that. Mean while Gus played on the cheap this year to prove himself. Bad gamble so far but he is bringing it more the last few games and may be about to fill the role.

  9. Someone mentioned in Kings GDT I think that Lenny's game is being coached out of him. I'm thinking that remark, sorry whoever made it as it is a great point. And if you examine you may agree with it too.

I think it was the first goal in the Kings game that he was down early and the puck was roofed in for an easy goal. Thinking back to last year, wasn't he more of an old school Bunny Laroque type that stood up hugging the post? Isn't this down early crap style of goaltending all the rage now? I think the guy is right that HIS game is being coached out of him.

I will go back to the GDST and see if I can't who should get credit for the comment but kudo's to whoever made it.

EDIT: found it. It was bunnomatic with the great observation. Nice job!

That was a fun game. Not sure maybe Drk4 would know but could the goalie coach be coaching the confidence out of Lehner ? He seemed out of it at times tonight and actually rarely looked square to the shooter.

  10. I haven't seen him since he was here. I am expecting him to grow and trust that his brother says he's better than he is. The lineage is strong and he is fast and has the hands to go with it. I think his time in Roch was no doubt given with a directive much like Sam was. Don't worry about goals or points worry about this... get to the gym etc. I think Nylander is going to provide a far bigger impact than Sam. Just my thoughts.
