    Dude. Sorry to hear this.

There is a huge shake up where I work. Lots of layoffs (some deserved, but still sucks).

I’’m safe, but lucky me, it’s all happening at the same time that my brain decided to be a dick and try to kill me again. You just can’t imagine how hard it is to pretend to give a ***** about the extra workload and new schedules, while trying to figure a treatment plan and surgery schedule. Like it or not, soon I’m going to be out 4 to 6 weeks, and I won’t be thinking about you. The upside is I told my buddy that I’ll be showing up at his house with a zipper on my head right around the time the lakers start to head into the lower Niagara.

Good luck with the surgery, I hope it goes well.

    It was a joke, sir

    good god

    Don’t worry, I won’t let it happen/quote you again

lmao the most innocuous rib and you fire back with that. Seek help

No, it wasn't a light hearted joke. You posted a screenshot of my profile page in an attempt to out me as a liar and embarrass me. You're so bothered by eye rolls that you're pettiness is becoming increasingly aggressive. JohnC commented some time back that liger was being a certain way. I responded with something like I disagree, when you say someone is doing that my mind goes to Thorny breaking 100 sticks on his dead horse. You read that and said something to the effect of, it's obvious people don't want me here so I'm gonna leave, and you disappeared for awhile. Then you started with the retaliatory eye rolls, which is kind of amusing. Recently you sent me a DM about giving you eye rolls. Now you post a screen shot of my profile page trying to embarrass me. So no, it most definitely was not intended as a joke. If the eye rolls bother you so much stop beating your dead horse and I'll stop giving them. It's just a message board. If eye rolls from an anonymous person in Nashville are affecting your emotional well-being, maybe you're the one who should seek help.

You sleep on a bed of lies

*****. You came along after the great server crash so I'll forgive your ignorance. That incident SDS referred to yesterday? That happened in 2002, and it was a topic of discussion on here. I know your self esteem is so low that you crave message board validation and get your feelings hurt over eye rolls to the point you'll hide and sulk for a few weeks, but you're getting really petty.

After seeing your first ever post ever was last year and about how knowledgeable Kevyn Adams with a heavy dose of Kevyn Adams ballwashing I have no choice but to believe that both you and @Sabres73 are some combination of Mr. and Mrs. Adams.

I just asked Siri and she agreed.

EDIT: I just asked Alexa. She said without a doubt. But with an Australian accent.

I've been on this board for over two decades, I also like the way Adams is building the team. For this team, in this market, at this time, I think the draft and develop strategy is the way to go. Not strictly of course. I want smart FA pickups and trades in the off-season. I advocated for Novak before nashville resigned him a couple weeks ago. Proposed giving up a kings ranson for Saros prior to the draft. Bitched for months when Adams didn't put in a waiver claim for Tolvanen. But over all, I like the direction the team is headed and am happy with Adams.

  5. One of the things I find most encouraging about bringing in Byram is him being paired with Dahlin on the PP. I believe over the last two year we had one D and four F, I thought for sure he would go to PP2 behind Dahlin. To me, this signals a change in philosophy/strategy, it's encouraging to me to see Granato do that.

Haven't seen enough of him here to know. But I do know that Colorado considered him a lesser Makar and he was considered an offensive D man and not a defensive one. He's not that big for one. I'm not sure what his height and weight is now but he looks lighter/thinner. I will have to see more to know how he handles net front pressure and how he actually defends.

For one, he won't be used to how poorly most of our forwards back check and thus if he gets confused on whether or not to stay in front or follow down low his D might suffer. I mention this because I've noticed lately that Clifton has started to park in front more and not chase. Thus he has looked better on D. This was because in Boston he was used to following the man down low and forcing him outside or behind the net because he knew there'd be a forward coming back into the slot and/or taking away the trailer. In Buffalo the pass back was to an open man and he was getting killed on it looking out of place behind or to the side. This happens to all our D often. I haven't seen Byram enough to be able to add anything definitive on him yet. I saw very little Colorado over the last few years. If I remember correctly he wasn't great against Seattle in the playoffs but that's a bit vague on the memory.

Of course he's a lesser Makar.  EVERYBODY is a lesser Maker. No shame in that.

  7. Nashville's point streak is up to 13 games, 11-0-2. They beat the Jets tonight 4-2, the game was not as close as the score. Nashville was relentless and dominated play. I hope they match up with Vancouver in the first round.

That's true, the 3 dmen who  produce offense aspect is front and center. My additional question would be who provides the defense? Amusingly earlier on Byram's pairing was with EJ. Are we going to try to win 8-7 every night?

Have you had an issue with Byram's defense? He looks pretty solid to me. Dahlin and him look real good together, hopefully we add an upgrade for Power in the summer.

    I disagree.

Fair enough, I respect that. My reasoning for wanting/liking expansion is two fold. I believe a larger American footprint will increase TV deals, increase revenue, increase the salary cap, I believe this strengthens the overall health of the league. Vegas and Seattle have been very successful so far. The other reason is I'm hoping that if the NHL gets enough teams they will have no choice but to go to a schedule where each team plays every other team home and home. That's the only way to get a true balanced schedule. No divisions, no conferences, just one table where the top 16 teams make the playoffs and teams are appropriately seeded. No more playoffs where two of the top five teams end up playing in the first round.

    OK Dunning-Krueger. 🙄

There is an onside and there is an offside. There are no multiple sides that are off. It is unequivocally singular. It’s cringy. You hear it from dumb jocks on broadcasts because they barely got out of high school. Then the public repeats it. It’s the same exact scenario in football where they say a team has a +10 turnover ratio when it’s actually a differential. Both are grossly incorrect and repeated incessantly by dumb ex-jocks.

Wow! Someone's insecure with thier masculinity. Hit the gym buddy, you'll feel better about yourself.

. Our young goalie is playing at a surprisingly high-end level.

Every time you say something like this I feel a twinge. Back in July I explained why 6K was a good goalie and that he would have a good year. Noone wanted to hear it, most wanted him waived. When most were bitching about the Byram trade I said no, this is a good trade for us, and this is why. People just kept bitching. Same thing happened with Mitts. Same thing happened with Tage. Same thing happened with Ollafson years ago when everyone loved him and I said he needed to go. Noone wants to listen to the meathead.

Most people have picked their position on the team, and nothing this year is going to change it.  Many on here to criticize things, they are going to criticize things until what they want happens, and for many, that is Granato, Adams, and at least 1/4 of the current roster is gone.  I swear that if they brought in a new GM (A GM approved on by the 'negative bunch' on this forum) and the exact same trade was made, many who not criticize it would be 'more' OK with it because someone else besides Adams made it.

    Of course you're right!

He was, and he was likely not going to fit into their cap projections/decisions but getting rid of one problem with another problem isn't really a good plan. We are just kicking the can down the road.

Or, he could be part of the core going forward. I know it's only three games, but he's really ***** good. Apparently Mitts wasn't in thier future plans. Maybe there were non-game reasons they wanted to ship him out. Can we hold off on bitching about trading Byram until we actually trade Byram? Or are we just so ***** miserable around here we have to invent reasons to be unhappy?

None of this can happen with the current coaching staff and without at least one or two legit playmakers added to this forward group.  We no longer have any forwards who can drive offense unless Benson takes a major leap forward next season.  We also have a series of square pegs that we are trying to drive into round holes on defense.  The D structure was made worse by adding Byram.  We don't have enough defenders who actually play defense well.  We also aren't physical enough at forward or defense.  The team's improved defensive numbers come primarily from the improved play of UPL.  We have allowed the 8th most HDC in the NHL and our HDSA are worse than last year.

There's a whole lot in this post that is just wrong. Saying Byram makes the defense worse is batshit crazy. Of course, you also wanted to waive 6K, so...

  15. I'm not going to be comparing how Byram does with the Sabres to how Mitts does with the Avs.

What I'm really interested in is Yakov Trenin. The Avs picked him up from Nashville for a 3rd round pick in 25. He's a decent 3rd line winger. I'm very interested in how the Avs use him going forward compared to how the use Mitts, who the line up with and how they produce.

I'm excited about the prospect of UPL continuing (and even improving further?!) his great play into next season.

I've also come around to see the value in letting Levi start in Rochester. His incredible play at the end of last season was an exciting glimpse into what he can become, but he does, indeed, need to find his groove.

Is there a way to have Levi be both the starter in Rochester, and start in Buffalo for all of UPL's "nights off"? I feel like the Sabres hinted at a little of this during the current season.

I am concerned about the assets that bringing in a solid, proven #2 'tender might require.

I think Kevin Lankinen would be the perfect backup for 6K next year. He's 28, Finnish, and a UFA this summer. Nashville is not resigning him because they're bringing up Askarov to back up Saros. I think Adams goes with Levi though.
