I know it's not a Rick night, but he's worth the tune-in. I might be crazy, but from what I've heard this season (work schedule has been uncannily against me, and I have a tough time watching a recorded game "live"), he's enjoying a renaissance. Goal calls of late have been much closer to Rick Prime (or at least Rick Still Really Good). He's getting more names, he's not losing the play as much. He sounds really, really comfortable, like he could do this forever. I really hope he and the team come to some compromise after the season. He can't go away. He just can't. Let him call a home game a month or something. If the team has a chance to win a playoff series, let him call the game for future release or something, while Dan or whoever still gets to do it live.
I was thinking the exact same thing. He really has rebounded from the end of last season when he uncharacteristically struggled with simple things. Hopefully he gets a handful of "post retirement " games. Dan for 82 is depressing.

As much as I despise Spectrum, I’m not dropping them. I don’t want a pizza pan on the side of my house/roof. I also don’t want to jerk around with not having this channel or that channel(Sabres games!), screwing around with an antenna, streaming this or that and dealing with buffering, etc…
All in the name of saving $50-60 a month? No thanks.
Exactly. Spectrum is pricey and the customer service is hit and miss, but I pay for what I get with no hassle. 200 a month includes Wi-Fi and home phone to be safe with a little one in the house. Plus, I paid an extra $5 a month last year to get the NFLN, NHLN, Olympic and Tennis Channel. The cherry on the sundae is they included the NFL RedZone. No other way to watch football. Last Sunday was magic on that Channel.
Wifi is super reliable as well. Impressive since we live south of Colden.

That's it. I'm done with the Sabres.

The foliage. How crisp the air is. The energy of closing in to those closest, knowing Winter is ahead. Cool rain. Diffused sunsets.

It is. Especially compared to other Audacy sports stations. But I have you say I'm hooked on The Instigators. Andrew Peters is really funny. He can be a lunatic. But that's PSE-created content, not WGR. (Sane with One Bills Live)
I agree on these two shows, but like you said, it's a PSE production. I haven't listened to the GR morning show in years but I put it on a few weeks ago running errands. It's still the same insipid show. It hasn't grown a bit.
S&B is a testament to the laziness of knowing you'll never have competition. How Bulldog can be on the air for 30 years and not get any better is totally amazing. How he still has a job is equally amazing.
The B team at night is following in these clowns footsteps.
The PD at the station is incompetent to allow this, but hey , no competition. They put no effort into it and it shows.

Nice of "The Sabres Station" to join the presser 5 minutes in.
The entire station is so horrible.

Is there a possibility that people can stop posting fake stuff and then commenting on the fake stuff? I’m probably just being an old stick in the mud… But I really prefer realistic information… Even if it is speculation. when those fake things come into existence by idiots… it would be nice to not share them. yeah… Maybe it’s just me.
It's not just you. Posting fake trades and disinformation isn't welcome around here.

And their top guys vanish in the playoffs.
Matthews and Marner have taken a ton of flak for that series against the Habs.
As well they should. You have to wonder if they'll ever get it right.

Hilarious how Hamilton and GR never have the news first.

I think Tampa will wind up more worn down as the series goes on. Islanders took a chunk out of them and it will show. The top 4 MTL D are skilled, big, and mean. Price is outstanding.

I'm going with the underdogs. NY/MTL. Both teams play such an effective playoff style. Gap control for both is outstanding. It's one thing to freewheel over the line and another to be choked off, forcing a player to go to the rough areas to make a play. Taylor Hall and the Avs found that out.

Stone has been terrific. That might be the series. Down 2-0 and winning in OT. Had to see the Avs coming back. Especially with game 6 in Vegas. We'll see.
-
I really like what Bednar has done with the lines. Saad in up top and O'Connor in. I think the Avs have decided to pick their spots speedwise and use a more physical approach. We'll see how it turns out. Fun nonetheless.
-
How can you not love what Montreal is doing. They are built for the playoffs and it shows. Price has hit that elusive switch and the D and all 4 lines play with such great gap control. They'll be a pain for either LV or COL. The odds are long but I would put it past them to pull off another upset. Double-plus: they beat the Leafs in embarrassing fashion. What's not to like?
-
I so love this series. This level of hockey is amazing. I wish they could play a best of 21. Although, there might be no one left lol.
-
If this was November, Bednar would bag skate them. No excuse for this effort. We'll see on Tuesday.
-
Game 5 will be epic. If the Avs can't respond to the Vegas speed and tenacity....well, they got a big problem.
-
And everyone thought Bednar was enraged after game 3. His style is either going to get these guys to play to their capability in the 3rd, or continue to get beat to every puck. God help the garbage cans in that room.

This what drives me nuts about this league. Rules are enforced differently period to period, and sometimes shift to shift.
I bet Bedard is going to strangle Nemeth in 3...2...1
-
How is that a penalty on Makar?

Looks like the Av's and Vegas are picking up right where they left off. Fantastic. God I miss this as a Sabres fan.

This broadcast was brutal. Sounds like they both took 100ml of Xanax .

Cuthbert is great. We're stuck with Adam somebody on NBCSN. Last shift really shows how Winnipeg is so lost.
Two Jets try to drill Perry at the line and he simply pulls up and lets them run into each other. Hilarious.

Yeah. I was glad he didn't break a bone in his leg when he went into the boards. Hopefully it's just a day off due to soreness. He has been outstanding.
