And the terrifying part is those shots are somewhat accurate. Idk how you stop a rising 100mph slapper that just nicks the inside of the post.ย

This year Tage is 4th in points and 3rd in goals to this point of the season in the ENTIRE LEAGUE. You can't get much more superstar than that.ย

I don't think I've heard talk of 100 mph slap shots since the days of Bobby Hull, Richard Martin, or Lanny McDonald. Maybe I need to get out more?

The difference in this game was 2 fold - the Sabres didn't have an answer for the Hischier line & the ref had an early whistle twice.

Granato was matching his D and for the most part matching lines.ย  This team still needs a bunch of pieces (which for the most part might already be in the system) to compete for the Stanley Cup.ย  But they really are only about 3-4 pieces from being a legit playoff team.ย  Fix the goaltending (and yes Anderson played well but he isn't stealing a game after October for them) and playoffs need to be the goal.ย  This team competed with one of the 3 best teams (at present) in the league.ย  Yes, they were outmatched early, but they weathered the storm and competed.

What is it, a dozen years on now from the last playoffs appearance? Kind of depressing, the thought that they are 3-4 pieces away from being a legit playoff team.ย

Yessir. ย Any perceived value is completely artificial.

"artificial"? A currency "printed" out of thin air, backed by nothing except a promise to pay (debt); that debt currently at about $30 trillion ($90 trillion including contingent liabilities), continually growing and mathematically impossible to ever pay back through economic growth? Now, that is the epitome of artificial.

  4. Domestically, the BBC has told those facing a long winter in which they will not be able to afford to heat their homes that their suffering is โ€œinsignificantโ€ compared to that of the family of a 96-year-old woman who died peacefully in the lap of luxury. ย  ย
