  1. NYR coming off a nice win last night in ot but overall we play them pretty good. Sabres are an awesome team the game after a loss and we have a days rest.

With this being the last game til Friday, i think the players know they need to get 2 points tonight.

That all said, i will say-

    Sabres- 4

    NYR- 2

Briere, Drury, Vanek and Pominville with goals.

  2. If you want to blame Max, i can see how and i kinda see the arguement, but, in tonight's game? No way.... Montreal came into the game defense first and to close down our shooting lane and they did a GREAT job of that. We couldn't set plays up, their defense limited the number of guys we could send to the net and their defense slowed down our offense, but Max was by far the best player on the ice for Buffalo. He was setting up, he had turnovers but he also created more then anybody else. We were unlucky, Novotny could have scored 2 goals but didn't get good looks but the play was there all set up for him by Max.

Either way, blaming Max for this game is pretty much just stupid.

  3. And i'd like to add, i think we'll win either way tonight.

4-2. The defense will play a huge game, not allow many chances for Toronto. The offense, will be flying and the PP will be on it's best, scoring atleast 2 goals.

Briere, Drury, Novotny and Max with goals.

  4. In today's game, I wonder if anyone has to fight anyone. In particular, meaningless goon on goon stuff. If Peter's isn't there, McGratton probably isn't going to fight anyone. He might mot even dress. I love fighting but I really think Peters' presence in the lineup hurts the team significantly more than it helps. Gaustad, Mair and Paille all can score to varying degrees and the Sabres function much better as a team when they can continue to roll out line after line.

You're right. I mean 7-2 game we saw with barly any violence at the end. And no cheap shots... and i've seen a few games on center ice where the score was out of control and still, teams just decided to just skate it off and go to the next game instead of leaving a mark on that perticular game. Hockey has changed, i like it, some don't, but reality is upon us. Peters is useless.

  5. Quiet nights for Campbell and Pomminstein... Barely heard their names called considering how many minutes they played.

Pommer i can see, but i felt Campbell was outstanding of defense last night. Maybe our best guy in our own zone.

One guy i thought was very quiet last night was Briere.

  6. My favorite part of this game was, with about 3-4 minutes left in the 2nd, and a 7-1 score.... whistle blows.

Mike Funk and Danny Paille skating off the ice going to the bench, and you can just tell, by their HUGE smiles, that they were saying something like "wow, this is pretty sweet" and then giving each other a high 5. I just thought it was pretty cool. lol.

  7. I've been reading the Kotalik for Seabrook rumors all day as well. In the end, we may need to make this type of move due to injuries increasing our cap number to the point where we have to trade someone.

All day? It's been out for like 3 days or so. And i think multiple websites have reported it.

All in all, if Kotalik doesn't have a massive game tonight, then i don't know what is wrong with him. He has a chance to be part of something special and he plays lazy thinking he's getting a free ride to the playoffs and glory but man is he gonna be suprised when he is on a flight to Phenoix or Chicago.

I think Kotalik is gonna hit anything in sight tonight and play very well offensivly.

  8. Paille was called up, is someone out?

I don't know if it means anything or not, maybe Lindy Ruff wants a solid consitant 4th line tonight, or could it mean to end of Ales Kotalik? He's been rumoured the last few days to be on the way out.... Paille started off strong in Rochester, then stuggled, then came to Buffalo and when he returned to Rochester he was a new player, so i'm happy he's getting his chance again.

  9. For some reason, they seem like Sabres fans like we like Leaf (or Canes) fans... :)

    Canes Game Thread

Yeah tell them to go eff themselfs. We out chanted them in their own building. I'd be mad too. I was there for game 5 and i didn't see much trouble, Canes fans were just as much responsible to most of the madness that did happen, it wasn't just one way.

And who can blame us for laughing at their Ric Flair WHOOOOOOOOO after they scored. It's corny and stupid. I hate Carolina more then any other team.

  10. Even though we're 6-0, it'd be a massive disappointment if Carolina came here and won. Maybe it's just me, but i'm not over it yet. I want us to beat them. However, i've read alot on others forums and on wgr, maybe thing another blowout, but idk, Carolina is a good team if we like to accept that or not.

Their coming off 2 stright good games i believe, Cam Ward is playing well and they want to prove they are still the best by beating us. I think it's a big game for both teams, i know it's early in the year.

That all said, i think 2-0 Buffalo. Miller stands on his head and is the best player in the game. Vanek and Briere score the goals.

ps... i'll be in 116, 4th row in the old white #48 Briere.

  11. I have tickets available to all the Sabres home games, priced at or below box office pricing (depending on the game).

1 pair is 100 Level Preferreds at centre ice section 105, row 7.

I also have 2-6 seats for most games in section 316 rows 3 and 4. These are nice corner seats on the side the Sabres shoot twice.

Of my 8 tix, I'll be using anywhere from 3-6 tickets to about half the games, but will have the remainder available.

Depdending on the game, quantities of 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 could be available.

If you're interested, send me a PM or email me at sabrestix@gmail.com

yo if the 300 seats and available for tonight or NYR (3 for tonight or 4 for carolina) then call me... i PMed you my mumber.

  12.

i think people should start to grab some of those avatars and show some playoff pride!!!!!!

players taken: roy, hecht, miller, drury, briere

I feel great about our chances in this series. I like Buffalo in 5. I just think we are head and shoulders above Philly. The last few games we really had nothing to play for, we were locked into the 4th playoff spot, yet we played with an intensity and hunger of a team that is not happy just to make the playoffs. Both our golies are in top form, we are scoring in bunches and we have tightened the "D".

you couldn't grab another players avatar, had to be hecht which is already picked?? lol

  13. I'm just wondering.... i don't know how the buisness of hockey really works, but say Sabres deal Martin Biron to Tampa for Pawel Kubina (just assuming) would there be a way they can go get new jerseys and play tonight or is there like a rule you have to pass tests and can't play the day of the trade? lol it's just been on my mind, anyone know?

  14. February 15, 1995

Alexei Zhitnik scores on his first shot in his first game as a Sabre in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers at the Aud.

    February 15, 2003

Over 18,000 fans at HSBC Arena watch as Marty Biron makes 48 saves and Miroslav Satan scores on a penalty shot as the Sabres defeat the Rangers, 5-4, to snap a franchise-long eight-game losing streak.

wow i never knew Shitnik scored on his first shot.... lol what irony.

And i definetly remember that NYR game.... i was there!!
