yeah wtf is up with that guy? i thought this team was like..,"one-for-all and all-for-one" or somesuch. now i'm hearing that vanek has stopped skating and briere says there's locker room issues and i am wondering what the hell is going on? meanwhile, we';re getting blown out!

8 wins in a row including several nail-biters...they were due for a clunker. but i agree that you don't just have a bad game "just because." it is because of fatigue, or something that they did or did not do. even if you say for the sake of discussion that ottowa is a better team, that still does not explain the utter domination of the first 2 periods. those early season blowouts are obviously still in the sabres' heads, and when they came out a step slow, the lack of confidence just snowballed. ah well, the beauty of it is we get another crack at them next week. we'll find out if this whole "team unity" thing is for real if they pull together and play harder next time.

if that's the case, i'm glad we kept biron because if miller really let that bother him he's SOFT. personally i disagree with the premise. i think it's just a little slump. i expect biron to satart and play well tomorrow, which in turn will do wonders for miller's "confidence."

i understand the buffalo fan's instinctual need to be negative and bitchy, but this is a little over the top. but rather than duke it out with you point-by-point, i would just add two points. 1. we haveone of the top records in the league while playing a bunch of very young players who are only going to get better. this gives me optimism about our future as a real cup contender. will it happen this year? maybe, maybe not, but we damn near won it all a few years ago with a team that is not as good as this one. 2. briere was one of the top scorers in the league when healthy and will be back before the playoffs. i understand if you don't want to count him as a "top-50 scorer," because technically he isn't. but he sure as hell is a top-50 player.

i don't want to stray too far off topic here, but i just have to say that connolly's goal gave me a freakin woody. damn, that was sweet.

briere was the only difference maker on this team, and without him we're never gonna overwhelm people 5 on 5. i'm glad we built a little cushion in the first half of the season because we're gonna need it.

after monday's feast in the 3rd pd vs. the isles i am even more jacked up for this game. GO BUFFALO! i love it when we beat on the leafs, but it is always a little trickier task up there than in buffalo. i've said this about 10 times already this season, but if they win THIS one, then i'll KNOW they're for real! :D

i did not see the play, but in GENERAL, i say good call. i realize you go down sometimes to draw penalties, but some players take it way too far. to me, when hockey players start looking like friggin soccer players, it is time to tighten up on the dives! :P
