No it wasn’t. It was a trade of now for next year.  Connolly had 2 full NHL seasons under him and was a proven 40pt center that was still moving up.  And Bernier had half an NHL season under him.  You could equate Pyatt to Tage Thompson but Connolly was a known quantity.

It seemed like a bad trade because Peca was a fan favorite, not because we got back unproven commodities.

Agree with this, Connolly was 20 years old and a former 5th overall pick. Peca hadn't played in a year and Regier had to trade him - by todays standards it's crazy he got so much.

BUT, I was really mad when it happened.

He was signed to an NHL deal.  He was here on an AHL deal.  This is a nothing signing.  My guess is JoJo is getting traded and we another warm body.

Yes, they have to have three due to covid protocols. With Ullmark hurt they would have to recall UPL. This allows him to stay where he is if there is a trade.

Gurtler was the absolute worst!  He was the main reason the Sabres decided to switch RJ from radio to the television broadcasts!!

I have a question about this person.

I have a memory from the mid 90s, I was in middle school and without cable would listen to the radio broadcasts of the hockey games on AM radio (I was really cool). And I recall it being someone other than RJ,  that the RJ tv broadcast would be available on FM - but someone else had the call for radio only.

None of my friends or acquaintances have any memory of this, I believe because they all had cable and could just watch the games on tv, but I also cannot find anything on the internet referencing a different broadcast either. Does anyone remember this? Am I making this up? Is this "Gurtler" person the guy who would have had that call? Mandela effect?

He’s on the PS.  Yeldon and Williams are your choices for this week.

Williams is also on the Practice Squad. Covid rules allow for call ups. I think Freeman is likely only an emergency back for later in the playoffs, if I had to guess Yeldon will be active on Saturday.

Got my first jab yesterday. Masterful poke, not a stitch of pain. Very slight soreness developed in my arm late in the day and I still have it. I have to decide to feel the discomfort, it's so slight. I feel perfectly normal so far and don't expect any issues at this point.

If you have any concerns about the shot being painful or the soreness being unbearable, put them out of your mind. (Of course YRMV.)

I had the same experience, my soreness was strong compared to prior vaccines I've had - but nothing overly terrible. Was gone after 2 days.

Maybe I would find it somewhere.. but how did Buffalo clinch the #2 seed?  Pittsburgh could win their last 2 and end up 13-3.  Buffalo could lose one of their last two or both and end up 12-4 or 11-5 right?  Wouldn't that drop them down?

The hashtags are making it confusing. Bills are 2 seed with a win and Steelers and Titans loss.

Do the Bills miss Shag Lawson and Jordan Phillips?

I wasn't worried about the defense and although they made big plays last week, they aren't consistent in any phase of the game anymore.  Some weeks the pass rush looks good other weeks it doesn't.  Some weeks they avoid the big pass play.  Other weeks they don't and honestly the run D is mediocre at best.

Injuries to Milano and Edmunds really hurt early.  However, Wallace, Klein and others are wildly inconsistent.  Also where is our LB depth after Klein.  Honestly, the Bills needed to find some help on defense at the trade deadline if they want to win a playoff game. Maybe someone will cut a decent player that we can utilize.

I think they've been missing alot of players this season and their depth is getting tested and exposed. Players are being forced to play in spots where they weren't expected to.

Star being gone has changed roles for many of their interior linemen. I think Jefferson was going to split time between DE and DT and is now forced into a full time DT role.

Milano has played only 2 full games. Edmunds looks hurt when he's playing. Klein was likely expected to fill in for Lorenzo Alexander's LB role, so maybe 30% of the snaps, and instead is being counted on to play all of them because of Milano.

Norman and Wallace have both been hurt and missed large parts of the season.

    21 million a year to play a game....this world. Sometimes I just can't.

The way I generally think about it is that they're entertainers, moreso than playing a game. Adam Sandler got paid $275M to make 4 bad movies from Netflix. Same deal, same world, certainly doesn't make either right.

Are we any closer to finding a way to effectively treat this? Do we even effectively treat the flu outside of rest and hydrate?

We vaccinate against the flu, but treatment?  Not that I'm aware of.  It's rest, hydrate, and take something to reduce fever.

  10. Anyone else having NHL.tv issues? Have any idea what's up with not being able to watch the Rangers/Canes game?

I had the regular season package. When i select the game i get the message that "my account is not entitled to view it" and that i can pay $4.99 for it, but when i attempt to pay they tell me i'm already subscribed.

Spotted lanternflies suck and need to be eradicated from this Earth. I have been catching them for months as nymphs, now they are full grown.

This picture is what I caught yesterday. I have another load that big right now on that tree.

There's no link where Darcy is sitting in front of two bandana-ed men holding machetes, unshaven and haggard, reading from a script, "I, Darcy Finnigan Regier, declare that I opposed the signings of Ehrhoff and Leino, but Terry Pegula made me do it."

There's everything I've presented for almost 10 years now, and you should listen to the podcast, because it has Barnaby reporting that his team sources told him the signings were against Regier's wishes and Harrington confirming it "100%" while adding another bit of circumstantial evidence beyond one of the daughter's tweets.

Does it really defy your imagination that much?

This is a thread where I remember discussion of Pegula's role with regards to decisions being relevant, or potentially beginning.
