  1. I would have to respectfully disagree with this. Looking at what others have to say on boards like this, twitter, etc...not many teams' fans are thrilled with the idea of parting ways with pieces of their future, for a 33 year old goalie who will be a free agent in July.

I think fans rarely are thrilled with the idea of rentals, at least the valuation of them leading up to the deadline.
  2. GMTM was good listen yesterday on GR. Cemented the fact to me Miller is moving. Interesting that he created his own rating system and our scouts are to use it and not be sitting at a computer all day. I'm sure it's on their audio vault.

Thanks for the link, I found his comments regarding taking less for Mike Fisher in order to better take care of the player interesting.
  3.

Which is why I never said Miller to edm... I said Enroth. I was wondering if you could leverage a 1st from Edmonton for Enroth if it were conditional. With what just happened with Scrivens, I would guess Enroth would only net you a 2nd at best.

Thing to remember about Scrivens value is he's a UFA at the end of the season.

  4. I suppose he has the desire but can he put it all together. Hopefully Regier didn't stunt his developement with what could possibly go down as the worst player/prospect management EVER.

I think it was a lose/lose situation, if he were still in Quebec scoring 100 points in 60 games we'd be saying the same thing.
  5. And the Brees comment was terrible and completely unrelated. Brees showed a lot while in SD. Had two very good seasons.

But not until after being benched in his second year for Flutie and SD used a 4th overall pick in the draft on Rivers prior to his 3rd year.
  6. Why on God's green earth would any Bills fan argue in favor of ditching a coach that is actually doing his job? Jesus Christ Schopp is an idiot.

I don't believe he was arguing in favor of ditching the coach, just that if the coach were to leave it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Again, not saying it won't work out and I credit Patty for trying a low to no risk move. Having said that, the Oils are only 18th in the league in goals per game and have a terrible record and he still can't crack that lineup?

To nfreeman, do you know how many seasons he's been in N/A? If he came when he was 23 and he's 26 now then has it been 2.5 or 3.5? If 3.5 he's played less than one full season in the NHL. So although he may not be an AHL lifer, it's not like he's an NHL regular either.

Looks like he's spent 2.5 seasons in NA, both split between nhl and ahl. Last season left the Oilers and played in the Swiss league.

  8. Imo its so beyond warped that this unsubstantiated crap is even out there. I was a fan when this all went down and I never heard this and rightfully so. Heard the stuff about players wives and didn't believe those ones but this coach/player shite is enquirer fodder that should never have seen the light of day. Does Steve Cichon have any credibility. I wouldn't read anything of his after reading this.

Cichon is saying these are the types of crazy things they used to hear, and therefore the Hasek rumor should not be given any credibility.
  9. Guess it just seems a waste to use what would be the 4th 1st round pick on a defender in 3 years (Pysyk, Zadorov, Ristolainen... Ekblad)

Would be the 4th in 4 years, Pysyk was a 2010 draft pick. In the same amount of time they've also taken 6 forwards in the first two rounds, including 3 first rounders.
  10. When Carpenter put that kickoff on the goal line (allowing a return to midfield) after kicking them out of the endzone all day, I thought the game was lost. Had the Bills lost that game, I wonder if Carpenter would have had a job today.

Did the coaches mention whether it was a called short/corner kick or if he just missed it?

  11. Per Marrone, thad lewis to start, not bringing in a QB unless it's to the practice squad... So in thaddeus we trust I guess

Tuel was bad on Thursday, but I find it surprising that they considered him so bad that he lost his 2nd string job in one quarter of play. And if that's the case how wasn't this issue identified in camp or the first five weeks of practice.

  12. Bob Mathews, long time sports caster on WHAM1180 in Rochester, has been very critical of Buddy Nix's leaping onto the EJ Manuel bandwagon since the day of the draft. I'd say that Bob's early and continuing criticisms remain spot-on. Even in victory on Sunday, Manuel's passer rating was a BRUTAL 48! I saw the game - he made JP Losman look poised and confident in comparison.

Yeah he's a rookie, but there are other rookie QBs this year who look better already. The team won in spite of being handicapped by EJ Manuel. The bad news - Spiller is out, and Freddie Jackson looked hurt as well - those guys aren't going to survive the season taking up the slack on the ground for Manuel and the lack of effective passing offense.

Like who? If we're using passer rating as an indicator of success he's much better than Geno, the only other rookie QB to be a full time starter this year.
