Not a team guy, was he.
Oh, and everyone else are?
Fact is, neither you or I know the slightest thing about that.

How long? Another 12 years?
Oh no, any day now. Honest. Ir next year. There’s always next year…

That Eichel guy, did he have talent?

UPL with the shutout, I’ll give credit where credit is due.
I’ll also point out that the world has lost it’s mind, but hey…
-
Sabre-goalieitis……

The goalie situation was entirely avoidable, it’s simply terrible team management.

I'm calling it... if Comrie is in net, we win this game. UPL is the reason we lost.
The fact that UPL is still here, makes me want to throw up.

But the NHL hands out three games for ending people’s careers….

Bowling night so missed the game, but read the board… Lot of frustration bordering on anger…
Board agrees we outplayed them… Stats say we outshot them… by 37% and our PP did not perform… Fact is we ran into a hot goaltender… It happens.
No need for panic…
Team could use a shake up… If I were KA and DG… I would approach KO and make him Player/Coach… Give the C to Dahlin.
Fresh start.
To some teams, more than others…
And this makes zero sense. Because he’s an older player, he’ll automatically make a good coach?? Why?
If he’s no longer an asset on the ice, he can watch from the pressbox.

Dahlin is unreal to watch. Breaking things up is easy for him, every single pass hits, he plays like he's bored at the slow speed of the game.
And occasionally, he throws a bone-jarring hit too.

Good win. Some nice ugly scoring chances throughout the game, created from hard work and getting their noses dirty.

No excuse tonight eh? The Isles played a heck of a game last night vs Jersey and it went to OT. You can’t tell me Buffalo won’t be the fresher club. The Sabres need to stop thinking and start dominating. The best defense will be to possess the puck and keep it in the offensive zone.
I’d also rather see Comrie over UPL. I don’t really trust either but I think Comrie has a good mental side to him and doesn’t get rattled.
Sabres : Challenge accepted….!!

Well you’d be completely wrong. This is the same core if guys who suffered through an 8 games losing streak plus 3 other 4 game losing streaks last year and missed the playoffs by a point. They fought all season last year. I don’t see that changing this year. How they handled adversity last year, such as all the D injuries, is the reason I remain optimistic and continue to consul waiting at least 10 games before jumping off the ledge.
As I posted earlier they started last year 9-12-1 and then found their stride. FYI go to hockey-reference’s game log if you want to verify the data. Remember this is still the youngest in the NHL. They will be streaky again and have ups and downs over the next 6 months.
There are signs of hope. JJP and Mitts, two guys I thought would take a step forward, look improved. Greenway looks healthy. Thompson, Skinner and Cozens looked better over the last 2 games. Benching VO has sadly helped. I also notice the TNT line working harder on D, especially TNT.
Also on D I like what EJ is bringing and Levi’s talent is undeniable even with the slow start. He is keeping us in games.
Admittedly others have been invisible or bad, like Tuch and Clifton. All the D need to be better. Scoring first would help.
We’ll see.

Not sweating but points won and lost in October are just as important as points won or lost at season end. If we are out of playoffs by last years margin what difference does it make when you lost those few points. Still think we have the talent to get this going but our coaches need to get them thinking right.
A point lost in october certainly bothered my, last year.

If anything could kick the team and organization in the butt, a 1-3 start ought to do it. Hopefully, they now realize that last season is gone and they are going to have to put the work in because everyone is better. Ottawa is improved. Detroit in improved and if they don't put the work in, those teams will pass the Sabres in a blink of an eye.
I’m sorry, but I just don’t see it.
Would like to be wrong, but I don’t see who’s going to rise to the occasion?
This is an organisation of people who hang their heads when the going gets tough, not the other way around.
We’ll be in a 10-game hole mid-december this way.

I have a ton of things to say about the Sabres, but the team is saying it all themselves.
Good lord, what a disappointment.

They do not always miss the playoffs - 12 years is not always. All of those years due to the short sightedness of management as to the very risky results of deciding to ________ for what's his name.
Last year they missed by 1 game. That is pretty fine compared to the recent past.
The Sabres will be right there again this season. I believe they will make it inspite of losing their first 2 games.
Well, no you’re right. Not always. Just pretty damn close to always.
But missing for the 12th straight season - by 1 or 15 points - is not “fine”.

Have you been a Sabre fan for a long time?
This is often how they start out.
The Sabres will be fine.
Enjoy the season.
Yeah it is, and they always miss the playoffs.
I don’t think qualifies as “fine”, but that’s just me….

They did, but the point is they got better as the season progressed.
They started the season against the top 2 goalies in the NHL and they looked much better tonight. I expect better results soon.
Yay…. Any day now!

Well, it wasn’t Joker and it wasn’t a breakaway…. Same result though.
Early hole. Yay…

I am fine with a slow start if it means this team galvanizes the team.
I won't be furious if the team is something like 10-10-4 (or whatever the math is) at Thanksgiving, don't lose more than 2 or 3 in a row, and win more games than they lose every month through April.
We had too many 4+ game losing streaks.I’d take that any day.
Too many seasons now where we put ourselves in a hole before christmas.
