absurd to blame that game on biron guys, come on....maybe he didn't steal it for them, but most back-up goalies do not steal games. they didn't play a complete game and they were playing not only a good team, but one that was desperate. time to get over that feeling we will win every game. i can't believe how banged up some people are about losing this game..
news flash -we are going to lose a few more before it's over..
Stop making sense ... remember people were calling for Miller to be benched when he gave up 4 per game in wins ... I'm sure the calls for Noronen will start again ... maybe John Blue is still available.
-
We outshot them 29-23, Emery outplayed Biron.
Yes he did, by quite a bit. Doesn't make it OK for the rest of them to not show up at home in the 3rd.
-
biron isn't miller...no surprise.
Exactly ... we all KNOW he's the lesser goalie, yet wewant him to steal games? Not gonna happen often.
-
Sorry they can't score 7 82 times a year. But sometimes your goalie needs to show up. Biron did not.
How about scoring THREE?
I know it makes everyone feel better to blame only the goalie, just like everyone feels better to blame Losman or Bledsoe when the whole team sucks. Well, the whole team, Biron included, sucked tonight (by their lofty standards ... not comparing them to the Bills.)
-
Now they bank in an empty netter ... this Ottawa team is going to come on strong now, folks. Saturday night is going to be no picnic, and I'll be stunned if they are not the ones chasing us by midseason, not Toronto.
-
3 goals on 22 shots is just not cutting it. It's been a while since he's had a game with a .900 or higher SV%.
The team bailed him out some other nights. He's not returning the favor tonight.
I agree, but then say that. The point is they needed to be bailed out.
-
You guys make it sound like everyone else showed up tonight and Biron is the only one making mistakes. They don't deserve to be in this game, they are playing about 1/3 of the time. It would be 5-2 if Biron doesn't hold them in it. I agree the first goal sucked, but if that goal beats a team averaging nearly 5 per game they do not deserve to win.

penalties are killing us, especially the damn delay of game crap.
-
drury back on the bench at least ...
-
1st Round -- Carolina (want their season to end early)
2nd Round -- Thrashers (would be a wild series)
3rd Round -- Anaheim (top two)
4th Round -- Dallas (no need to explain)
That would be tough, wild and would excise some demons
Yeah would be really tough to move Anaheim to the East sometime between now and June. ;)
I SOOOOO do not care who we play anymore ... screw revenge. Win the damn Cup, I don't care how. I honestly can't say it would be better depending on who they beat. At this point, I am a beggar, not a chooser.
-
Wow ... well they definitely did not deserve 2 points tonight ... or even 1 ... that game made the Detroit game look like a dominating performance ... But you know what? Good teams win games that should not. The Sabres were the team cursing our luck like the Bruins tonight a couple years ago.
I would not want to be the Leafs Saturday night ... they are going to be ticked off about how they played tonight.
-
Ridiculous they got even ONE point out of this ... nice of them to start playing with 4 minutes left.
-
2. Is it me, or have the Bruins got away with a lot of clutching and grabbing tonight?
I thought so too but hard to bitch when they don't score on the PPs they do get and Boston scores 2 PP goals. They are just playing like crap.
-
They really need to score on this PP to start the third ... Boston is smothering them, and the defense has completely misplayed both 2-on-1s that ended up in the net. Not that they even deserve to be tied. Not a huge shock considering the long layoff ... ridiculous to sit for almost a week and then play 7 games in 9 nights or whatever it is.
-
Won't we get the MSG feed for the home games? I can't stand the Boston feed. (Only time I purposely miss the anthem singing!)
Doesn't matter, it's on the road .. .so definitely NESN.
-
Wow ... well, now they can get on with the season.
What a crowd. The "Let's Go Buffalo!" after it was over was amazing. Man, I miss Buffalo.
-
What a great point .... even if the streak ends, what a great point.
-
HECHT! someone on here called it ...
They just will NOT die!
-
Offside not called and it ends up in the Sabres net ... tellin' ya, just not our night.
(and yes I am working the reverse jinx for all it is worth)
-
I can't complain about the effort though ... it's not that they are flat or anything ... definitely some bad passes that need to be cleaned up, but they are taking it to Atlanta for the most part.
-
Not looking like our night folks ... dominating and they are getting the bounces ... they are also blocking shots like crazy ... they are going to go into lockdown.
-
I think it ends tonight (I said that before Montreal and it worked ;))
-
He only took 1 shift with them and that was shortly after Pominville's penalty.
If anything, Lindy was sending the other kind of message - you didn't come up in the rotation on the penalty kill and your line was screwed up right after the penalty kill but we want you on the ice. So take a shift with these guys and then you'll be back on your regular shift when your line is up.
I don't see where double shifting a guy sends a message that he needs to pick up his game. I guess we took different messages from Lindy's decision.
This is what I got out of it too ... most of the time in the second half odf games, someone needs to take Peters spot on that line, and Lindy is not going to give extra ice time to someone who did not earn it. Vanek may not have been as dominant as in recent games, but the effort was there in my opinion.
-
Briere was back out there after the slash ... hopefully he is OK ...
Very impressed. I admit I thought tonight was the night it would end, that was a very solid road game, especially for their third game in four nights.

No, he faked the pass and Marty leaned ... it's a bad play by Biron. A good shot, but still a bad play by Biron. But again, that goal should not beat this team.
