Any chance Gionta has a players-only, closed-door meeting before the Jackets game? Tank Friday and have a nice sendoff game Saturday. Win Friday and it gets ugly for everyone.
I can see him having a players-only meeting to tell them to play their hardest and finish the season with 2 wins.

Yes, I just likened the Shart to the killing of Bin Laden, although, I think there has actually been more spin and vitriol regarding the Shart.

FYI - the leagues are already set to auto-renew next season but I don't have any desire to do them. So if anyone wants to take them over feel free to send me a message with your email and I'll transfer them over to you.

In SabreSpaceBlue we have Derrico with a blowout currently over DeLuca but the margins on many categories are razor thin and could turn quickly.
In SabreSpaceGold we have a nail-biter! dudacek and DeLuca all tied up with possibly the winning category being if anyone scores a short handed point.

Strome is also an elite prospect. So is Marner. This is where the awesomeness of McEichel has skewed perceptions. Strome and Marner would be in the conversation for #1 overall in any normal draft year, but this is an abnormal year, so they'll go 3-4 and most seem to be thinking of them as typical #3-4 prospects. I think that's the wrong view. They should be thought of as 1-2 level prospects; if you think Reinhart is elite, then you have to think Strome and Marner are also elite.
That's all fine and well - but as I said, wouldn't it be nicer to have that "even better elite prospect"? The Sabres have a very nice amount of potential talent on the way in the next few years. Stome or Marner or whatever other player will be a very fine addition to that prospect list. But at this stage of the game, shouldn't everybody be happier if they are able to guarantee to get a piece of that "awesomeness" ?

That is correct. Having that elite prospect as your #2 center because you have an even better elite prospect as your # 1 center is better than having that elite prospect as your #1 center and having a very good talent as your #2 center.

That is true. He wasn't Jonathan Toews until Chicago drafted Patrick Kane with the #1 pick the following season.
