Reinhart will be fine. Reinhart would be even finer if he were to be the #2 center with McDavid or Eichel as the #1 center. Having an 'elite' prospect allows you to slot your players into positions where they are superior to the opposing teams lines. I don't understand why this simple idea doesn't appeal to everyone now when the team only has 5 games to go to accomplish that task.

I found it enlightening. It says that dark really doesn't care what the team does ("It's just entertainment.") Win, lose as long as it's a good value for the show. He's not in it for the passion of the crest.

I can really see a GM on another team looking at a Sabre player and saying: well, that player really sucked all season but they sure did put in a good last 6 games of the season. I'm going to sign them up.

I wasn't being serious. This is what scares me. They are playing for their NHL lives. McEichel and the fans of Buffalo are furthest things from their minds.
They are playing for the name on the back of the sweater; not for the crest on the front.

I can see the newly motivated Sabres going 3-2-1 or 4-2 (real record; not CHL) in the remaining games to pick up at least 7 points putting them at 57 or 58 for the season. The Pens will be resting everyone they can that last game so the Sabres either win or at least pick up the OT point. I can see the Coyotes losing out but maybe picking up a max of 2 points. That would put them at 56 points for the season.

That's what I'd guess also. Haven't seen any reports yet for the reason. Team skate not until 2:30 ET.

How many years were the Penguins bad before they drafted Crosby? The Blackhawks made the playoffs once in 10 seasons before Kane & Toews arrived. The Kings missed the playoffs 6 straight seasons before turning things around. The best teams in the NHL today didn't "tank" to get to where they are today and I doubt their fans where cheering the opposition.
I understand - the Sabres need to suffer for another 3 years before they should be rewarded.

With a little help, by losing out, from the teams above them; the Sabres can finish 26th if they win out! Here we go Sabres, here we go!

Because Red Wings fans were hoping and cheering for last place so they can get Steve Yzerman back in 82-83? What a load of crap. If you can't reconcile the difference, I'm not going to waste my time.
The 'Dead Wings' were a laughing stock for most of the decade prior to that draft. I think they had as many fans as Arizona does.

Really? I didn't realize. Oh, wait - the tv feed uses those same words you heard on the radio feed.
As the saying goes - a picture is worth a thousand words. In my opinion I saw a situation that looked worse than the words I heard.

I listened on the radio. Well, online. It jumped out at me. Maybe Swamp can explain the difference in audio TV vs. radio. On the radio, you can often make out what the fans are saying, for example. Not true on TV.
Since you didn't see the situation - you didn't see Hackett first just lying there motionless for some time and then writhing in pain where it looked like they would need to bring out a stretcher.

Next year, people calling out others for being tankers or anti-tankers will be roundly ostracized. What happens in 2014-2015, stays in 2014-2015.
I still hold a grudge against people that were happy the Sabres traded Tom Barrasso.

I root for the crest on the front of the sweater; not for the name on the back of it.
As a fan I want the team to win championships. If that means they need to have a bad season to have a much better chance to attain the goal in the end; so be it.
The only thing I care about the name on the back is that that name is the best name to help the team win championships.

Sorry I don't go out of my way to express a deeper vocabulary around here. Normally posting on the go. Don't really feel like putting the effort in. Other posters say the same things with better and more thorough posts.
