So drawing blood is no longer a 4 minute penalty?

Weber looking out for the kid.

Orton's deal is two years, $11M. The report this morning that players are giving up on Manuel and that he is on a short leash makes me feel like they're preparing for the worst on Manuel. They have Orton on a two-year deal so he can come in if Manuel continues to fail and then start Orton (unless EJ steals the job back) after drafting a second (or first in a trade up) round QB to learn behind Orton.
What report said players were giving up on Manuel?

The best thing to come out of this thread is the abbreviation "ZFG". Love it!
I thought that was for Zemgus f#%kin' Girgensons

I think Neuvirth plays more games than Enroth this season.
Definitely possible, but I don't see them making up the 33 points Miller was in goal for.
-
The point was made earlier but I think Enroth is going to be our trump card when it comes to completing the tank. He was 4-17 in his 28 starts last year and don't really think the defense is going to be good enough to bail him out.

I'll go with something simple yet repulsive.

The aggressive approach of Murray is just so NOT like Darcy. With Darcy we'd all know we were done and the team was set. With Murray we're all waiting for the next move to be made!
Darcy would have been being interviewed by Wgr around 12:45
-
All that BS about "setting the market" or whatever now translates to me Darcy saying, "I have no idea what my players are worth, so I have to have other GMs tell me."
GMTM pulling a Heisenberg. "I don't wait for the market to be set, I'm the one that sets it!"

The phone ringing on free agency day 1 and him in a presser looking at it and saying I should probably take that!
Absolute GOLD :w00t: Unforgettable stuff right there.
That was funny. Didn't have much trouble hearing the questions. If you guys want the questions transcripts I'd be happy to do so.

You think it might have something to do with the misplaced sense of entitlement, and misguided elitism?
Also having a captain that hates the team, a coach who is awful and a team that has made the playoffs once in the last decade.
-
the best part of this trade is all the leafs fans on their message boards butt-hurt that he chose buffalo but not toronto and saying how buffalo sucks and putting buffalo down… ummm i think they forget that they've made the playoffs once in the past decade. thanks for the laugh Gorges
Not just their fans, but their media as well. http://www.torontosu...-to-maple-leafs
The defenceman who picked the Buffalo Sabres over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. He made that decision of supposedly sound mind, or so we are informed. He selected living in Buffalo and playing for quite possibly the worst team in the NHL over living in Toronto and playing in the so-called centre of the hockey universe. He chose the armpit of America over one of the world’s great cities, current traffic and politics aside.
And some are quietly calling this the ultimate hockey insult. Because the Leafs want to scream out loud about this — but won’t.

Why ?
We need solid vets that can bring along the young guns, and we have to hit the cap floor. Over paying for a high quality player like Moulson who genuinely wants to help Buffalo with our rebuild is money very well spent
Plus we still need to get to the floor and that eats a nice chunk of it.

and now my day is complete until 4...

I am now told by multiple sources that the Sabres are putting final touches on Gionta deal. Should be done soon. #FreeAgency
Once this is official I'll be set for fa watching for the day.

Anyone have the link where you can ask the Sabres GM questions? It started at noon right?
-
Congrats nfreeman!
How's it going so far?

A true scientific genius.
Nice comparison. Does that make pegula Dee Dee?
-
A scheme! Hold on, let me poor on my slightly larger framed glasses.
-
It's easier for a guy like Girgensons to crack the line up because expectations aren't as high for him.
A 1st rounder that they traded up for doesn't have as high expectations?
-
I remember when grigo was a lock to be on the team and gergs was the question mark when they were drafted.
-
I can't believe no one has pointed out the obvious solution... Extend Stafford

Wait a minute ESPN.com has been hacked. They have the NHL Draft on page one.
Must have been a coin toss between hockey and tennis since nothing else is happening right now.

Still could result in one... but probably wont.
