  1. On July 1 Darcy Regier wanted to extend Chris Drury.  Sabres Brass (Quinn) didn't want to commit that cash to Drury so they basically told Darcy no. Darcy accepted that and Drury and Briere both left.  How many times do we have to discuss it?

And we say how much everyone hates Buffalo.

For all eternity or at least til the sabres have a presidents cup team again.

  2. Seriously - that team is a disaster and years away from winning. Plus, they don't even have a GM.

Honestly, if the Sabres and Babcock pretty much had a contract in place, and he was deciding between taking the contract from the Sabres or staying in Detroit, and then Toronto came out of nowhere and kept trying to drive up the price, then if the Sabres just walked away they did the right thing. That's pretty crappy if Babcock told them last night it's between staying in Detroit where his family is happy or going to the Sabres, and then tried to use Toronto.

What if Babcock called the Sabres bluff and they told him "Fine. Bye." Now he's stuck in Toronto.

I think the fact they don't have a GM is likely why he would go. Assume both roles.
  3. It's all BS...Kraft and Goodell had a wink wink understanding if he accepts his penalties Brady will get his suspension reduced in half...watch it play out

I'm sure it is but they are some seriously disturbing people reading their forum.  Although me taking pleasure in it doesn't exactly make me sound of mind either.

  4. Anyone have a reference for that? If I remember right, he said something that a few people though meant that, but the rest of us thought was pretty innocuous.

    Here you go.

Let's be honest, Pegula carries these coach prospects in his pocket like so many nickels and dimes.

There is no way in hell Detroit is countering a $50 million package.

If that is what Pegula has thrown on the table, this deal s done.

I don't know if Pegula knows what a nickel or dime look like.

  5. What does everyone think about "Red Dead Redemption" ???

This game receives a lot of praise.  I bought it for the PS3 and played it for 3 or 4 hours to get a feel for it.  It was supposed to be a "Fallout" type "open world" game but set in the old west.

I absolutely hated the game!  I thought the fighting was ridiculous (like it was impossible to stay alive) and it was hard for me to slot into a pre-determined plot line and do things.  I was constantly thinking "What am I supposed to be doing?  I don't get it."

Anyway, it didn't last long.  It doesn't help that I was definitely not feeling the vibe of the Old West theme.  I'm not a huge cowboy movie fan to begin with, but I just wasn't digging that game at all.

I'd be curious to hear other opinions of that one.

Think of Red Dead Redemption as GTA in the Old west.  I think you will appreciate it a little more.  All and all, it really isn't the greatest game ever made but it's a good time waster.  I liked Red Dead Revolver much better.

Like most of you, I hardly ever have time for video games anymore.  I mostly play League of Legends just because I know it will be 20-30 minutes and I'm done.

Some games I grew up playing all the time:

Zelda (from the first to the last.  Except wind waker)

    TMNT

Resident Evil 1,2,3 (I remember leaving my playstation on all the time for RE2 to get the never save achievement)

    Super Mario Bros

I'm sure there are a ton of others but can't really think of any off the top of my head.

  6. Software Developer here, math minor: C, MIPS, Java (mostly), Fotran, html script...learning some databases next year, python (already know some), and hopefully C-Sharp. Graduate next year

Similar field.  Graduated in IT with database and web design.  Started my career in customer support and now a System Administrator (my job title but I don't completely agree with it).  Most of the work I do is in R & D.  Been designing custom control systems for my employer for the past few years using python and raspberry pi but originally started with just making applications in C# for fun.  Still do a decent amount of database work but mostly just for reporting.

Manage a few other systems in our environment for inventory and customer tickets but that's mostly UI design.

  7. Fans on Arizona's message board are a little nervous about today's draft. And it's very understandable. Have a 66.5% chance at drafting 3rd.

I honestly think AZ is going to win the drawing.  In the past 20 years the last place team has only won the lottery 5 times.  I'm hopeful but being realistic.

  8. I really don't like that I ran the draft lottery simulator and ended up with these results:

You have run the simulator 100 times.

    Arizona Coyotes

    Wins: 21

    Win %: 21%

    Buffalo Sabres

    Wins: 12

    Win %: 12%

    Carolina Hurricanes

    Wins: 10

    Win %: 10%

    Edmonton Oilers

    Wins: 9

    Win %: 9%

    New Jersey Devils

    Wins: 7

    Win %: 7%
