  1. I'm prepared for the extra cost to an extent, my neighbor is a builder and he looked at my setup and thought that with the way my current tank is vented, gas hook up and electric outlet already there should help. Plus he called his plumber that he uses in the homes he builds so I should be getting his rock bottom price.

I used the plumber I,ve relied on for many moons and still the price is quite a shock. I replaced 6 water heater in 3 of my homes, well my friend just be like a boy scout when it comes to dollars... be prepared. Hope all shakes out for you and it goes swimmingly
  2. Hot water tank in garage is leaking/failing. Happy New Year to me. I have a plumber coming out this afternoon to get quotes on replacement options and I'm thinking of going tankless. Does anyone have a tankless water heater? Worth the extra cost?

my funeral homes have tankless hot water heaters.... just finished replacing them. You need to be prepared for a much higher expenditure than you think they are pricey. Also be prepared for labor costs parts etc.... not to mention county permits to do the work.
  3. I have a staff of 17 people working at my funeral homes. They range from funeral directors to office staff to interns and every single one of them donated their Christmas bonus to St Judes Childrens hospital i memeory of my sister.Great bunch of folks just great folks and I am not ashamed to say they made me cry this morning with their kind gesture.

  4. You're the guy with that 1500(?) acre spread aren't you? That really is awesome.

At first it was 1500 acres then I purchased 750 more on the same tract of land. So you are correct, good memory my friend. The 750 is going to be used for some horses my daughter has and some beef cattle my daddy wants to move down to south GA from his land in Ellijay as well as some cotton and soybeans. After my daddy retired from the funeral business he started raising cattle and some hogs to keep himself busy and my mama sane!! LOL

  5. Dotted the I's and crossed the T's on a new funeral home down in Savannah. I've 4 in the Atlanta area but added another on the coast. This one is for my daughter when she is ready. On top of that last week I closed on another property on Tybee Island a block from the lightnhouse and 4 blocks from my MeeMaw and PawPaw's place. After all the dust settles I'm going to the woods for 2 weeks deer hunting

  6. Haven't had any real time with the GF in two weeks but this weekend instead of going down to Tallahassee for football she decided we can just have a relaxing weekend. On top of that it is fall break and the Georgia Florida game so no one is really around which means no waits or loud obnoxious ppl. I am hoping for a good fun relaxing weekend!

  7. Nice, have fun! I spend a week at Fripp Island up the coast a bit back in May and it was fantastic!

we do several big low country boils down on Tybee during football season... maybe you and your gal can make it down, although you may not enjoy being suurounded by a passle full of Georgia tech alums!! pm and i'll let you know the particulars my mee maw makes some awesome shrimp & grits and my paw paw usually has some corn squeezin that'll warm your belly right quick
  8. The old "Tim Connolly" syndrome. Can the Sabres just get rid of all these thin skinned guys who get down on themselves because they are criticized.

what about the thin skinned all knowing fans who were offended when Stafford called them "mouse potatoes"
  9. 2.5 hours almost every day? I hope you're a park ranger...

Nope, I am a Funeral Director. Own and run 4 funeral homes with my brothers. My homes are staffed with great folks which in turn allows me many hours of free time.

Dude... congrats! Probably a good way to zen out or listen to a lot of books on tape, too.

Thanks , sometimes my walks are silent but mainly music to keep my pace up. i statrted walking to release some of the stresses from my job, it is afterall an emotional challenge on a daily basis dealing with grief stricken families and trying to maintain an even keel and composure.
  10. Taking the next month off from the funeral business to do some hog and deer hunting on my property in south GA. My 2 brothers will have to handle the family business. They are more than capable but are green with envy about not being able to go to the woods
