I will never understand why Veteran's Day has to be turned into a blanket military appreciation event. Isn't military appreciation day every day in this country? Shouldn't this just be Veteran appreciation? I do like this segment with Sniadecki and his service dog though. This is good. Talking about PTSD is very very good. Yes. 11/10. Very good dog.

I'm not excited for Thompson over Girgensons. Breaking up that checking line seems foolish.

I think Sprong is a pretty good player and if we can pry him loose from the Pens I would do it.

I think it's worth noting that he's really playing a pretty conservative game at the moment because he's a rookie. I expect we'll see more speed and risk from him as he gets comfortable. His skating is so good though. One thing that always gets me is that his turns to the left (his weak side) are just as tight as to the right. Most players, even at this level, have a side they are more comfortable turning to and you'll notice forecheckers anticipate the turn to the strong side. Dahlin turns to the weak side and it lets him escape pressure. A very nice skill to have as a defenseman.

Looks to me like he's trying to shoot from the outside a little less. Hard to tell for sure though.

Frankly, I don't need his shooting percent to be super high anyway. But I do need him to shoot it. That goal where he rang it off the post and Skinner put in the rebound was exactly the kind of good stuff that comes from Jack shooting more. The puck got through traffic and was dangerous, and a lot of times that's enough.

Agreed. I think being in Carolina for as long as he was, in a non-hockey town, has probably had an impact on him. I bet he's much happier here.

He's also taking more faceoffs per game. His first 3 seasons were around 12-13 faceoffs per game. He's taking 16.6 per game right now. Perhaps getting O'Reilly out of the way has actually been better for Jack...
