I sat in the orange several times. It was almost like climbing a ladder to go up near the top. Needed to pretty much look down between your legs to see the ice. Watched the best of 3 playoff game against St. Louis up there when we scored in OT to take the series. Up until then I had never heard a crowd get so loud. The Umberger game against the Flyers did finally beat it out as far as noise.

Back in the 70's it was difficult to get a ticket. If I remember correctly there were 10,000 people or so on the waiting list for seasons. I was fortunate to have companies that my company dealt with that would sometimes give them to me. Best seats ever were next to the camera well at center ice in the first row of the reds. Just far enough up to get a great view of the ice and of course center ice gave us both ends. Our company president was on the board of the Braves and we had floor tickets whenever we wanted. I remember the Aud Club as having the best beef on wecks that I ever had.

Lindy Ruff is a hell of a coach and when he has quality players he schemes to their strengths.

I don't know if the Sabres have played against a team this quick yet this year. It took them at least half the period to adjust to another team with their speed. Goaltending saved their collective *****. Lindy looks to have aged quite a bit since last year. #46 in quick glimpses looks like Jochen Hecht. Side by side they wouldn't look like each other at all.

Devils were ready considering the Sabre's last two starts. They're settling down somewhat now.

While that line took advantage of the opportunities and looked great the Blues were well behind and taking chances that aren't normally part of their game. Sorta like the Bills great rushing performance against the Browns who suck against the rush. Nevertheless, the Sabres are passing well, moving quickly and backchecking with a purpose. If they play like they did in the last two games they'll win a lot.

The history on Quinn is that every time he moves up a level it takes him awhile to acclimate and really produce. Hopefully this is the start of him shining for the good guys.

Any idea who we could get for Gratton in a trade?

I hope that sentiment is not indicative of all your opinions regarding the Sabres. Not only is he a sniper but the rest of his game seems to be rounding into shape.

Sarcasm. He's on a pace to score about 40 goals with I think only 3 PP goals so far.

While the O'Reilly trade certainly was a good move for the Blues they have to be shaking their heads over how Tage has developed. I'm thinking the Sabres got more than they were expecting.
