Oh man, I was at that game. Upper deck, at the Canes blueline camera-side when that goal went it. It was a mad house. That game (and the rest of the series) was the origin of the baby-eating, and "Drunkard" getting into the Canes fans' heads.

But that only took a week! It’s barely enough time to reach double digits in people talked to!

It’s almost like Treliving knew who he wanted to hire before he fired Keefe and he didn’t even do a thorough search.

    😜

To be fair, every head coach (under contract or not) probably called hoping to work for the Leafs, so there wasn't much legwork on Treliving's part.

    Landscaping people/companies.

We live in a community where a landscaping crew comes in and cuts the lawns and trims.  When they trim they often scalp so low they kill the grass, and when they cut the lawn they drive so fast that when they make a turn, they dig the grass right out of the lawn and leave marks or entire bare spots.

The good news is our community isn't that strict, a few of us have 'opted out' of the service, and we cut my own lawns now. (we have close to 1/2 an acre, so not enough for a riding mower but by hand it takes close to an hour..but I have time, I don't mind it).  The Landscaping company is also fine with it, they said simply submit a list of homes for them not to touch and they will abide by it.

    My complaint is this:

-I submitted officially to the community to have me taken off the list of lawns to be cut and it was confirmed.

-When they started cutting the lawns a few weeks ago the guy who owns/runs the company showed up and I reminded him.

-When the workers that trim came by, they saw me and asked if I was getting the lawn cut, and I told them, no, our house is on the list to be skipped.

-I cut the lawn 2 days ago so it is OBVIOUS our lawn is shorter than both of our neighbors already.

Yet 20 minutes after confirming to that guy on site AGAIN that we are to be skipped...., the guy on the mower is not only driving through the backyard cutting it, but there is another guy trimming and making a mess of everything he touches.

It should not be this hard to get a company and its employees to actually do the most basic, simple things in their job.

Maybe a sign? "Get off my lawn!"

Complaint: minor fall on my MTB on Tuesday, but good enough to bruise my knee, hip, and elbow. Luckily, I did it right before a stop so everyone in the group was watching.

This is strange. He was bottom rung with the US Dev Camp. He was TERRIBLE at RPI. Rochester has been meh.

So it seems odd to phrase this as "why he chose...." He is underqualified for his last two roles now has the chance to stand behind an NHL bench. Of course he takes it. It isn't like he had to choose between being the assistant here or in Boston.

I was thinking the same thing, lol.

Seth Appert said there were 4 reasons why he chose to join the Sabres' coaching staff:

    1> They offered

    2> They offered

    3> They offered

4> Are you joking? I wasn't on any other team's radar. Also, they offered.

  5. After a long and detailed search, speaking to dozens of people, we were shocked to find the perfect match in our own org. We're upgrading Joe Amerkski from skate sharpening senior tech to be the 38th Amerks Head Coach. He'll assemble his staff (from other people in the org) shortly.

Is that really how it works?! Wow. Why wouldn’t he be getting 3 from Jersey and then whatever the Sabres are paying him on top of that? Doesn’t each team make their own deals?

I think they write "if you get hired by another team, things change" into the contract.

The other day I was listening to one of the replays of Jeremy and Joe, and all they talked about for the first segment was about toll booths. Jeremy's memories of throwing the coins into the baskets. It was just horrible radio. Although, they did find out that there is still a "basket" toll booth somewhere in West Virginia. Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

Man, I got to be a pro at rolling through at around 10 MPH and timing the toss so they hit the basket.

  8. In a bubble, Appert is fine. As a whole, bringing back half of the assistants might be fine. But, you hire from within when you have something that's working and you want continuity. You bring in from the outside if you think you're going in the wrong direction and need new eyes on the issue. I don't think anyone here really thinks things are going in the right direction, such that bringing in Lindy is the *only* person hired from outside the org. I don't think we're going to see shake-ups in the line-up either. Maybe picks or a prospect for a 3/4 C and W to fill out the roster.

I might be downgrading from low-contact to no-contact with the team, lol. This is probably the least effort the Sabres could make to change things, which I will match with the least effort I'm able to give following the team.

How do they do they encourage that?  It’s about the return for the leagues top goal scorer?

I'd assume they're also in the ear of the Salties making sure it's a good deal for Toronto.

Eichel (not as good but cheaper) got us 2 former firsts (Tuch - fine/krebs - sucks) and a first that I think turned into Rosen.

so I’d guess something like Power, #11 overall and someone like Savoie?

A questionably injured Eichel that may not have healed. It appears LV won that gamble. I'd think a fully-functional 60 goal scorer would draw a bit more.

My source tells me the league is "encouraging" Toronto to deal Matthews to Utah.

It would be delicious to see the Toronto media turn on him, lol. So hang on, would he consider Utah his "hometown" team since he grew up in Scottsdale AZ? This might have legs!

Didn't all the teams make the playoffs for like ... the first 50 years? Not that it makes our sitch any better.

Pre-WW2 all the teams were in a kinda weird playoff, 1-2 would play and 3-6 had a mini-tournament to play the winner of 1-2. After that, the number is more like 2/3, I think. During the original 6, it was 4 four teams, then 8 of 12, 12 of 18, 16 of 21. Since 1993, it's been 16 teams, with the league slowly growing to now, where that's 50%.

Education basically (not k-12). My team changed and the veterans have been pushed to the side for newer ppl who are Yes men. I'm sick in explaining why things won't work or trying to fix all the screw ups. I'm over it and want to move on so I'm looking. I want to work in assessment either education or Healthcare but jobs in Buffalo are slim.

Edit: Oh and there was some things done behind the teams back with one of newbies that hurt what we do but was initiated by management. I got slapped down pretty hard and unprofessionally when I questioned it and tried to show them the issue. The trust is broken and it's never coming back.

Oh, get out of there if you can. Management is not setting the old team up for good outcomes.

Good thing he’s not a goalie, Sev is not a good nickname.

If I were an above-average goalie, I'd absolutely use that nickname; it's hilarious.

My concern with russian players is their patience. I am not convinced that Komarov will stay longer than two-three years in Rochester if he does not earn a spot in the Sabres line-up in that time.

I'm not sure the KHL (if that's what you're thinking) is the draw it was a couple years ago given "outside factors".

I just heard on WGR 550 a few minutes ago than i believe it was Darren Dreger is reporting coaches were never talked to at by Adams, berube said he never spoke to Adams at all. I caught the tail end of it but it's being reported that there was no search at all and it was Lindy Ruff from the get go. Like I said I caught the tail end did anyone else hear this?

Maybe it was video coach scouting.
