Sobotka with a late meaningless goal.

No it isn't. We've covered what a tank is repeatedly on here.
Yep. Just because we're bad doesn't mean we're tanking.
We're just bad.

Huberdeau skates through the whole team.
RJ thinks it's Barkov the whole time.

As much as this sucks, it's nice to have internet strangers* to be miserable with.

Yeah, that almost never works.
Peca, Drury, Briere, Hasek, Lafontaine, Hawerchuck, Dumont, and Barnes were just a few of players the Sabres acquired by trades.
Agreed to an extent. Purely relying on drafting gets us a team similar to what we see now - all our best players are still children and are playing huge minutes out of necessity

Offside challenges are the dumbest thing ever.
We probably lose this one

Man, 4 years in to Eichel and Reinharts tenure here and we are looking bad, very bad.
Yes but the two of them look really good on a terruble team

Eichel with goal #2. He had a bee in his bonnet after that penalty

Kim likes Botterill, unlike Murray. He has time. Like it or not.
Plus this GM hasn't called her the c word, which helps.

Disagree. There is benefit now, even if it isn't playoffs.
I appreciate your dedication to the veteran mentor conversation. I still don't know if that is truly what ails the Sabres, but it certainly couldn't hurt.

No, but I’ve been fantasizing about it alot.
I've been fantasizing about golfing in the spring alot.
If only I played for the Sabres - then it'd be a guarantee.

Mittelstadt looked good last game returning back from a brief injury; why the **** did Phil isolate him and make us a one-line team with Reinhart back up there? At least the lines look appropriate today...but we suck vs Florida teams especially on the road, so this could get ugly if Barkov's line outplays 9's again
Welcome aboard!
As to the bolded, can I point you to the "Fire Phil Housley thread"? As i'm sure you know, Phil's lineup choices leave a lot to be desired.
Glad to see Reinhart gets his own line again tonight, I thought the team looked a lot better when he was elevating the play of our 2nd tier forwards like Casey and ERod.

Are you sure? I was going from a famous speech made by some famous character. It was featured in some documentary, or other, about animals and the houses in which they live, IIRC. I will pull a LGR and try to find and post a link to a YouTube clip.

"Forget it, he's rolling."

For all you "hockey gods" people that yelled at me when I started GDT's early a month ago, do you not see how great it is that we already have 4 pages of fun banter? As an added bonus we have lured in a new poster from Europe who provided a beautiful prose about life, hockey and our fair city.
If the Sabres aren't going to win games, we can at least get the party started early to entertain ourselves.

At least the recent losses will continue to lower the ticket prices for the meetup game against the Capitals...
I'll watch Tuesday, but I have zero expectations at this point

It's been obvious we are not making the playoffs. Tonight only further reinforces that. Whether it's coaching, lack of roster talent or some other reason is really moot at this point.
I expected more from this season, not so much the playoff birth itself, but to see some fight right to the end for it, regardless of outcome would have been nice. These guys have just mailed it in. This past month/month in a half especially. It's actually sad to continue to have receive this pain as a Sabres fan. We fans deserved better than this, that's really all I can say on it.
Maybe I change the poll to "Should the Sabres be sellers or hold tight this deadline".
Good thing we asked about playoffs a few weeks ago and not now

Wow. Philly can tie us for 10th. We are 6 back of Pittsburgh.
AND Phil is losing the team.
Does anyone think the the entire league didn’t know PH called this team soft?
So what happened? A big lunkhead on the devils shoots a puck at our goal during warm up. Bogo engages, the lunkhead back down but jabbers away. The Devils were in our heads before the puck dropped.
Bogo is the only player on this team that will stand up consistently. He can't carry it for the whole team

The plus is with the Pegulas and Botterill in the arena, we really could pull a Gallant and leave Phil on the street outside the arena in Florida
