Loved that cross ice pass by Pommers. He's still real good.
Liked the defense way more.
Griffith did a couple nice things.
Passing looks better.
Agree OReilly looks off.

I think it was Paul Hamilton who said yesterday that Eichel likes Kane a lot, and that the alleged taking a little less money could be to get team to sign Kane to long term deal. Don't kill the messenger.
-
The interesting element of the Okposo signing is that he asked three specific guys about living and playing in Buffalo, Matty Moulson, Stafford and Vanek. All three of them, in their most recent experience in Buffalo were routinely hounded and harassed if not vilified by the fans and press, and yet all three gave glowing reports on the city. During an NFL draft about 15 years ago Mike Tirico on ESPN was talking about the Bills draft and said that around the league, no one wants to go to Buffalo and then as soon as they get there no one wants to leave. Of course there are exceptions but I think it's true for the most part.

2 of those guys only had reputations of being prima donas (Harvin and maybe shady), Rex was just a blowhard idiot, Richie was the only one that you could say could tarnish an image because bullying is such a big thing these days
Harvin punched out his teammate and was kicked off of a few different teams.

I agree. Pegula may be patient in many areas but I wonder how patient he is when it comes to tarnishing the brand. I see him as far less tolerant in that area than in others. Kim, too.
GO SABRES!!!
You mean Pegula who didnt mind bringing in Rex, Percy Harvin, Incognito and Shady in one year? Me thinks Pegula wants to win, and is much tougher and more shrewd than his nice guy demeanor indicates.

That was such a great decision and play by Kane. Love it. Players are going to love him for it, too. From a guy who despises passing, too. That was too cool.
-
I always thought it was Jerry "Rhino" D'Amigo but i could be mistaken.
-
Is that classified as an "upper neck injury" or a "lower neck injury?"
-
Ocho Cinco makes up for his gift.

Bogo is such a good all around player. Makes one miss Tyler Myers.
Ullmark moment!
-
McGinn should have had an easy goal. We are not sharp tonight but hanging in there.
-
Man, what a play by Risto. Too bad it's wasted. Quite a sloppy period by the good guys. Lucky it's not 3-0.
-
I know its the easy answer but the whole damn team for me is by far outplaying where I thought they'd be. Honestly I was prepared for more suffering and now I'm not so sure we will get any. Sure there will be hickups, there always is. If I have to pick a name I'll go with Risto. This guy could become our own Lidstrom.
The fact that so many players have been mentioned as pleasant surprises almost makes your answer the only answer. The whole team, especially because they so quickly bought into Byslma, has been surprising. Yesterday was a treat. It seems like so long ago the team played a game like that on the road against an allegedly good team.

For me it is McCabe. Never expected him to be this solid, on offense or defense or hitting. Has made tremendous strides in a short period of time. Much tougher than I expected. Better passer and decision maker. Less mistakes, although he makes them.
Of the newer guys, I expected Pysyk to be like this (because I like him a lot). I hadn't seen much of McGinn but everything I read, especially from other players described this guy we have. ROR has been the good ROR so far. Franson has been as good and as bad and as slow as advertised. Ullmark I guess is a nice surprise so early but a small sample that could change drastically.
The second most surprising, incredible as it may sound, is Eichel to me. I expected greatness but not this fast, and there are things he is doing I didn't at all expect so fast.
I didn't really expect Gionta and Moulson to play this poor this often.
-
Seems like Pysyk and McCabe and Franson all make half rink passes tape to tape with regularity. We haven't had one d guy that could do that in years.
-
O'Reilly is tied for fourth in the league in scoring (not that it will last) and leads the league in pp points. He's played one more game than a few guys but still.
-
Are you talking about the pass to ROR?
Yup.
-
Great play by Foligno, too
-
And even this game is without Ennis, Kane and Bogo.Just think they haven't really reached their potential for this season yet. Sam, Jack, Jake, and Mark are all still getting up to speed. Rasmus a little too. By the end of November...
-
Oreilly is just a tremendously skilled player who gives 100% always, too. Not a lot of guys in league you can say that about.
-
Love Deslaurier.
-
What a shift that was. Haven't seen that in years.

someone needs to tell Rayzor that "acrost" is not a word
LOL. Good stuff.
