  1. it’s hard to ship goals out until you are sure you replaced them.
  2. That was a quote from Tim Murray when we lost the lottery in 2015.
  3. This is like the game of Sabres broken dreams… McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane, Kassian…
  4. I don’t ever remember Jack and Sam doing the things that Connor and Leon do. 😳
  5. There’s probably 1000 different ways you could phrase that tweet, be super respectful, Honor his remarkable accomplishment and not talk about family days before he is shipped out.
  6. I assume the screen name is actually for fun and that you are no relation.
  7. This seems cringey. They’re probably gonna trade this guy shortly after this game.
  8. I had the idea to tie readiness in hitting or pitching to your contract. Go back to the 70s and determine what it takes to make a major league baseball game 2.5 hours. Determine how long each person should have to get ready at the plate and how long each pitcher should have to get ready to throw the next pitch. Set those as targets. If you go over those targets on average over the course of a season, you lose a certain percentage of your salary. The idea is that you can let players have time if they need to, but in the end they know they just have to do their job and get the game moving or else it will financially cost them.
  9. And I’m not picking on anyone specifically. I’ve actually pulled two of your post out and made them their own topics in the last week. It’s just an example that happened today.
  10. In an experimentation gone poorly, 10 years ago we decided to have a bunch “all about” topics and it was awful. A few people didn’t want to click around and we made these monstrosities and for the person who didn’t visit multiple times a day, every day and read every thread, it was an awful user experience. How does a new person even engage in conversation structured like that? If someone found us today, were they supposed to read five pages of a show upheaval Discussion that occurred seven months ago just to get to today’s new bit of information?
  11. I don't want this to be contentious... It helps everyone if we are on the same page as this is a common situation with a lot of people. I can write a page or two about the topic... Missing a topic is by far the only reason. But before I do that, I can ask you the same thing. What is the logic bringing up a 7 month old post? What problem are we trying to solve there? Why is doing that better than starting a new discussion? Here is what happened to me this morning: I stopped reading the topic on page three back in Sept. Topic get bumped. I see it, read the subject - I am now confused why this was bumped. The show has been on for 7 months now. I click the title. It sends me to page 3 of 5. I see that it is old. I scroll page page 3. Nothing. I click to page 4. Nothing. I now go to the very end of the discussion and scroll backwards to find the new post. How can that experience possibly be better than "New Topic: PTR gets question answered on the Instigators"? The topic is current and the subject is accurate The new subject helps me decide if I'm interested in clicking. If not, it is still informative in of itself One click gets me to the new material That has to be a better experience for most everyone - doesn't it?
  12. And this is the problem with digging up months old topics just to add a post. Now people are replying thinking that this is a new development. 🤦🏻‍♂️ There really is zero reason to dig up an old topic unless there is specific, relevant information in the topic that is germane to the reason why the topic has been bumped.
  13. It was reported he was not under consideration because he missed so much time going to the Olympics.
  14. I have been proclaiming that for years. Adding junk ice to highly skilled players, doesn’t benefit those skilled players. I don’t know if it’s applicable, but we have that situation in our beer league. We have one surface that’s 20 feet wider than the other two sheets. People always complained when we played on the big sheet against much better teams/ringers and it always worked out that our crappy ass team played better on the bigger surface.
