Time Warner viewers, Sabres share your pain

‘Any easing of the rules to telecast Sabres games, Black said, requires the consent of MSG because MSG owns the exclusive right to distribute the games. “It’s very flippant to think all (fans) need to do is change providers,” Black said. “It’s more involved than that.” He reiterated that the Sabres — who are under contract with MSG through 2016-17 — consider the network “a very good partner.” “But, as I’ve told them and I’ll tell them again,” Black said, “they’re not the most important partner. Our fans are the most important partner.”‘

One still a lonely number for Sabres

‘Really, what’s new to say? It was another game with one goal, another loss for the Buffalo Sabres.’

Bogosian has warm memories of Buffalo

‘”I got put on the Jumbotron and thought it was the coolest thing in the world,” Bogosian said with a laugh. “It was fun. It was their home opener. I don’t remember who they were playing, but they were lighting off fireworks, and I started crying. I got so scared. It caught me off guard.”‘

Players put NHL realignment plan on hold

‘The players are citing a lack of information on travel and issues with the playoff format as the reasons they had yet to approve the plan. Player reps Paul Gaustad of Buffalo and Ron Hainsey of Winnipeg both met the media prior to the Sabres-Jets game to explain their side of the situation.’

Oduya scores 57 seconds into OT to lift Jets past Sabres

‘“The puck was there on top of the pad,” said Leino, who returned from a broken foot, about the disputed goal. “But I don’t think the ref saw it there.”’

Myers healthy, eager to get back to top form

‘“Myers really hadn’t looked like he missed a game,” Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said about Myers’ play in the 4-2 loss.’

Oduya scores in OT and Jets defeat Sabres 2-1

‘Buffalo’s Ville Leino believed he scored the apparent go-ahead goal with 1:45 remaining, but play had been whistled dead prior to Leino jabbing the puck away from Pavelec and into the net.’

Winnipeg 2, Buffalo 1 (OT)

‘Tyler Myers scored for the struggling Sabres, who fell to 2-6-2 in their last 10 games. Jhonas Enroth stopped 39 shots in the hard-luck loss.’

Jets Edge Sabres 2-1 in OT

‘Still tied 1-1, the two sides went to overtime where the Jets ended it quickly. Oduya beat Enroth with a wrist shot for his 2nd goal of the season to give Winnipeg the 2-1 victory. Enroth finished with 39 saves in net while Pavelec countered with 31 saves.’
