Senators ring up the Sabres

‘”We put a lot of work in. We generated some chances,” said Pominville. “It was definitely a step in the right direction to get a point. But to a man we know we have to be better to get on a roll. Everybody’s going to have to be a little bit better.”‘

Injuries on Sabres’ defense is like ’06 playoffs

‘”It’s a shame to see guys get injured obviously, but I just want to help the team as much as possible,” Brennan said. “It seems like everyone in Rochester and here in Buff has been fighting injuries all year. It seems to be the problem. You just have to fight through it and hopefully get a couple wins.”‘

Time Warner, MSG fail to reach agreement

‘”We are disappointed that MSG and MSG Plus will be dropped from Time Warner Cable’s lineup,” Michael Bair, MSG Media president, said in a prepared statement hours before the deadline.’

Ehrhoff’s injury leaves void on back end

‘“T.J.’s got a goal in the league now. Nabber’s got a goal in the league now,” Sabres defenseman Mike Weber said. “Nabber’s been playing some big minutes for us for a couple weeks now. (He’s) a great young player. … There’s still more guys down there that could come up.”’

Butler lifts Senators to 3-2 SO win over Sabres

‘Driving to the net, Butler faked several shots to get Jhonas Enroth on his heels. Enroth eventually backed up inside his own net, allowing Butler to easily flip it over the fallen goalie.’

Ottawa 3, Buffalo 2 (SO)

‘”I think our battle was there but we just came up short,” said Buffalo head coach Lindy Ruff. “We just have to keep grinding it out and we’ll get our wins.”‘

Sabres lose 3-2 to Senators in shootout

‘A tenative third period and several quality saves by Enroth in the overtime resulted in a shootout. Bobby Butler scored the deciding goal for the Senators.’

Sabres bring back Brennan

‘Brennan of course is excited, but he doesn’t like the circumstances, “It’s a shame to see guys get injured, but I just want to come up and try to help the team out as much as possible. It seems like everybody in Rochester and up here in Buff have been fighting injuries all year, but you just have to fight through it.”’

Ted Black: Sabres Season at Crossroads

‘Black says that changes could be coming, “I think we’re probably at a crossroads right now in where the season is and we need to sit down as a group next week and decide where we’re going to go with this season.”‘
