‘”We don’t really know how bad it is. He’s just feeling it again,” Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said after practice. “He’s trying to get through it, but it’s been a long time. We felt (Tuesday) would be the day we’d get him back in, and we thought everything looked like a go.”‘

'How long it lasts will be determined soon. With Maxim Afinogenov ready to return Tuesday in Boston, the Sabres will be over the 23-man roster limit. One option is to place Tim Connolly, who has missed 10 games with a bone spur on his hip, on injured reserve. Another option would be to send Kaleta back to Rochester.'
'If the Sabres aren’t going to sign Campbell, which appears where they’re headed, then they darn well better look to trade him. With or without Campbell, it’s hard to envision this team making a long playoff run, not with Ottawa likely awaiting it out of the gate. Reality indicates the franchise would be better off investing in its future rather than trying to wring every ounce of potential out of the present. That means trading Campbell, presuming the Sabres can obtain reasonable value in return.'
‘Buffalo could be a cup contender yet again with the addition of a scoring left winger, a right-handed defenseman and a versatile centerman.’
