Buffalo Sabres remain only undefeated team in NHL's Eastern Conference

'After a snowstorm wiped out power to suburban Buffalo, N.Y., and with the Sabres on the road, the players boarded their plane in Detroit for a flight home Friday night to learn that managing partner Larry Quinn had sent the team's equipment crew out to purchase 10 generators to take home in case anybody needed one.'

Perry's up sponsorship deal with Sabres

'This is the first time Perry's has been designated as the National Hockey League team's official ice cream, though the company has been involved with the Sabres on various marketing promotions over the years.'

Sabres' Drury finally flips his lid

'"Every day you come to the rink, Chris is here first," Sabres goalie Ryan Miller said. "He's so businesslike, ready to go. That's what he brings to the ice. Every shift you know what you're going to get out of Chris Drury. He might make a mistake, but he's going to give it all his effort. He's being rewarded for all that effort now."'

When Sabres hit the gas, everyone plays catch-up

'"It is scary," Jagr said after the Sabres' 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers. "It's like, if you put in a Ferrari, very good gas. It's just going to go. They just play so good together. When the defense gets the puck, two guys are just flying up the ice."'

A winter weekend in October for Sabres

'Life tottered forward after The Storm, traffic lights, tree limbs and powerless neighborhoods aside. The city was deemed stable enough to support a National Hockey League contest on Saturday night. In retrospect, the New York Rangers probably wish the event ended up on the cancellation list suffering through a 7-4 beating from the Buffalo Sabres.'
