December 11, 1991

After a 6-3 loss at the Aud to the Blues extends the Sabres' winless streak to eight games, head coach Rick Dudley is fired. General manager Gerry Meehan convinces director of hockey operations John Muckler to take over as coach.

 

December 11, 1992

With the city digging out from the biggest snowstorm of the season to date, a crowd of only 13,000 at the Aud watches the Sabres pile onto the Hartford Whalers, 9-3. Buffalo converts half of its power plays as Pat LaFontaine and Alexander Mogilny each finish with two goals and an assist. The Sabres outshoot the Whalers 46-14.
