With Kalinin locked up and cap space rapidly dimishing (depending on who you talk to, Buffalo’s cap figure is somewhere between 40.7 million and 41.5 million), Buffalo needs to ink only one more key member of last years run, the goalie, Ryan Miller.  The problem with Miller is that there isn’t really a market set [...]

Where are you getting $41.5MM from? Unless you are looking at more than the 20 players that are 95%+ likely to be on the Sabres roster that are already signed, the only figure that I have seen any question about is what Roy is getting paid. That could put the Sabres current salary at $41.0MM.

Are you including Paille on the roster? Because if you are and you are using the $627k for Roy, that gives a salary of $41.5MM, but I am starting to have doubts that the Sabres will include Paille on the opening day roster if Connolly is healthy because with Ryan Miller's likely salary, Paille will put the Sabres over the salary cap.

If Connolly is on BLTI-IR, then I definitely expect Paille to make the squad barring a horrible training camp.
