Because of three days' worth of performances -- Friday through Sunday -- of "Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Coloring Book," the Carolina Hurricanes might have to prepare for the Stanley Cup finals at their practice facility, RecZone.

 

I'm pretty sure the hockey gods are not down with Elmo. :angry:

 

An NHL spokesman said the decision to begin the Stanley Cup finals on Monday, rather than the weekend, had nothing to do with Elmo (or his friends Big Bird and Cookie Monster). The issues were setting up U.S. and Canadian television, the uncertainty of whether the Eastern Conference finals would extend to a Game 7, and the fact that "Monday was the original start date, anyway," NHL vice president of public relations Gary Meagher said.

 

This just smacks of bad karma.
