wjag Posted May 23, 2006 Report Share Posted May 23, 2006 Pretty clear what happened from my perspective. Carolina nailed the Buffalo Defense for two periods. They knew they were tired and couldn't take chances. They sent wave after wave after them and slowed them down. In the second period, they had an all-out-blitzkrieg. I completely discount the supposed skating the Sabres did in the third. By the 3rd, the damage was done and they just sat back and played prevent. Give 'em credit for a great game plan. We need our guys back, we need our home ice, we need our fans energy and we need to slow their forwards down. If Drury standing in front of the net is fair game to get decked and Briere can have his helmet ripped off after the whistle, then I have the perfect job for Janik. Take one quality shot on Brindy, Staal or Stillman and knock them on their butts the way Carolina did to us. If we let them hit us like that again, we won't have the troops left to fight.
