Curtis Brown scores the opening goal early in the first period, but the Bruins stave off elimination with a 5-3 win at the Fleet Center in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Boston lights up Dominik Hasek for four goals in the first two periods, sending the Dominator and his pesky groin to the showers early. Dwayne Roloson enters the fray, and a Sabres' rally falls short. The Bruins close to within three games to two, prompting coach Pat Burns to quip, "Order the chicken wings. We're coming back."
