Ha, I didn’t realize it went that late. It’s too bad they didn’t tie. 1 Quote

Gatorman0519 Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Hopefully we don’t have to get in a shoot out to beat the Saints. The defense is not very good so far. 1 Quote

Demoted Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 (edited) Got to love the easy wins. GO BILLS! Chargers lost and now we watch the Colts. Edited September 28 by Demoted Quote
Night Train Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Winning ugly. Not our best and win by 12. Meanwhile, the Chargers... the media darling, lose to Jaxon Dart in his first NFL start. Go Ravens. Quote

Meanwhile, the Chargers... the media darling, lose to Jaxon Dart in his first NFL start. Go Ravens. Spencer Brown was clearly missed. Both of the 1st 1/2 sacks were likely due to him being out - the 1st one Jordan simply abused Van de Mark and the other one, Torrance got caught cheating too much to his right expecting to need to help Ryan and the stunt left him in no man's land. The good news is that apparently they were close to having Brown play today so he should be in against the Cheats next week. And, getting 31 points in a game where you were awful for an entire 1/4 without getting any particularly short fields until the very end, even against a bad team, is pretty impressive. As for the D stinking against the run, hopefully getting Hoecht into the lineup will help with keeping RBs to get the outside. Bosa's a great pass rusher, but he wasn't quite there on at least a couple of long Kamara runs. And the other guy hopefully will help too. 1 1 Quote
shrader Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 (edited) It’s looking like Baltimore is officially not competing with the Bills for the 1 seed anymore. Edited September 28 by shrader 1 Quote
JustOneParade Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Last week I was mildly chastised for posting that the Bills would never win a SB with this defense. I want to retract that statement because Josh and the offense can outscore any other team in the league. As Taro points out they might be the only team that can put up 31 points and look mediocre doing it. If they win one it would be in spite of the defense, not because of it. What we’ve seen from the defense isn’t just a one game issue or a four game issue. It’s been a five year issue. Same problems even with the resources they’ve been throwing at it. Hell, an 0-3 Saints team just ran for almost 200 yards today. I’m not sure if it’s scheme, execution or personnel … or all of the above. I hope with some guys getting back it can make a difference. Time on task may help too. The Bills have the luxury of an extended seven game ‘preseason’ schedule (save the opener) to right the ship. I really hope they can. I want to go home for a parade and I sure can’t count on the Sabres. Quote

triumph_communes Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 They weren’t healthy but they weren’t doing any good out there. Got a season to figure it out. offense can do things, it’s not amazing and high octane, it’s balanced and it should be good enough. But that defense woo boy Quote
Flashsabre Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Ugly win but years past that is a loss. they need the defensive reinforcements back. Pats game is one I’m interested to see how they play. Allen was in his old bad habit of hero ball throwing deep to covered receivers. But he came back to MVP Josh and got the job done Quote
Eleven Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 I can't help feeling like they beat the Jets and got away with three other games so far. 1 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 KC is getting healthy and rapidly returning to form. They were downright scary today. Quote
JujuFish Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 With Allen's interception, the Bills did not break the record for most consecutive games without a turnover. They do extend their own record for consecutive games without losing the turnover battle. Quote

Old-man history mode: The WWIV dial-up BBS software was popular around Buffalo in the late-80s and early-90s. For those who never used one, someone would run a (usually) DOS program on a PC with a modem and you could dial into it from your computer. DMs and Message boards, not unlike here. One person at a time, with time-limits. Later, these were networked (by dialing each other periodically and exchanging new messages) so you all didn't have to show up serially on one system. One of the largest networks of these was IceNet, which was founded by a guy named Jim Nunn in Buffalo. For awhile, I was a SysOp on Chain Reaction BBS, which I think was an IceNet node. Thanks for the prompt to unlock some old memories. I don't specifically remember talking Bills back then, but I can't believe there weren't some boards focused on sports.
