May 12, 1998

Mike Peca scores 1:24 into the second overtime as the Sabres take a three games to none lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals with a 5-4 win over the Canadiens in Montreal.

 

May 12, 1999

At Marine Midland Arena, the Sabres score twice early in the third period, on goals by Rhett Warrener and Dixon Ward, and go on to beat the Bruins 3-2 and take a two games to one lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

I was at that 1998 game in Muh-ray-ull. It was Senior week at Clarkson. I gotta say that the fans were very gracious even after losing a heartbreaker.

 

That was one helluva night.
