One Thing to Think Of....

Recommended Posts

The Sens only scored tonite when the Sabres were down 2 men. The first goal was a 5-3 PP and the second one came on a PP when Emery had left the net. The Sabres may get lambasted in the press by those who read boxscores, but the team defense the Sabres have been playing has been great. We outchanced the Sens and limited most of their shots to the outside. How many odd man rushes did they have compared to what we had?

Ooh, aaaah Sabres on the Warpath!!

Yup, its similar to what we did to Philadelphia in games 5 and 6. In game 5, I don't even remember seeing a tough save for Miller, as we easily win a 3-0 shutout and then the game 6 romp.

Say what you will, but we are taking a page out of the New Jersey Devils book and playing the counter-attacking style to perfection. Ottawa wants to hang their hat on their shots on goal, but with only 9 shots thru the first 2 periods, we had 1 goal, 3 goal posts, and 2 missed one timers into an empty net. Emery had probably 2 good saves in there as well. So on 9 shots we had 7 scoring chances. Ottawa in comparison had 3 scoring chances even tho they had 17 shots.

Basically we just wait for Ottawa to make a mistake then turn around and get a 2 on 1 or a 3 on 2. Its working great and they are getting really frustrated.
