The Sabres take a three games to two lead in the Stanley Cup semifinals and are just one win away from earning their first berth in the finals. May 6, 1980 On Long Island, Gilbert Perreault has a hat trick and the Sabres beat the Islanders 7-4 to avoid getting swept out of the semifinal round.
