Montreal ties the game with 18 seconds left in regulation time when Jacques Lemaire's desperation shot hit Danny Gare's stick and flew over Roger Crozier's shoulder. Perhaps 18 is an omen of things to come in overtime. Number 18 Gare beats Ken Dryden between the legs, trips and slides into the boards for one of the most memorable playoff winners in Sabres' history.
