April 3, 2006 The Sabres beat the Leafs 3-2 in a shootout at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, in the process clinching a playoff berth for the first time in five years. Martin Biron is very impressive in a rare start in place of the struggling Ryan Miller, and Maxim Afinogenov scores in regulation time and owns the only goal in the shootout.
