Lindy the shrink

Maybe I read too much into quotes, but it seems like Lindy is lowering expectations for this team.

 

"I think we're going to rebound," Ruff said. "Will it be Friday? I hope, but it's a monumental task against a team that's going really well."

 

"We're in no hurry to get them (Connolly and Hecht) in the lineup to sacrifice their health," Ruff said. "We're gonna work our way through this, and if we have to endure a little more pain we'll endure a little more pain."

 

Interesting contrast from his comments during the November slump when he challenged the team to win six of eight or seven of eight, I forget, and they did. Maybe Lindy is trying to fire his team up this time by putting them down a bit.

 

Or maybe the players don't even read the papers. Who knows?
